It was a cold, rainy weekend and the cable went out and that too was restored within a few hours along with other motels in the area. "We arrived early on Friday before our 3pm check-in and were warmly received by Charlie, Patti, and Glory. They couldn't have been more accommodating, offering use of the cabana area if needed before we hit the beach. Check in was simple, Glory and later Adam, provided all the information, help required. They pointed out options in Cape May, places to eat, and parking. The "Avondale by the Sea Motel" has great beach access, is clean, close shopping areas, and McGlades (across the street)- a great breakfast spot on the beach. Our room was on the 3rd Fl, with a beautiful view of the beach. The room was clean, spotless, comfortable, spacious, with seating/table outside for an early read or nightcap. After arriving back to our room after dinner, the room was attended to by Olivia, addressing all needs. The room looked as it did when we had first arrived. Fresh towels readily available and restocked. We had dinner at both Congress Hass and Mayer's Tavern. We walked to Mayer's through the neighborhoods. If you like viewing some of these beautiful homes, do it. (1.7 miles). We sat out on the deck, a duo was playing an array of music. It was crowded but the wait wasn't long. We had the scallops-delicious. There are other options in that area. One being the Lobster House which is across the street. My wife and I have been down to the area before, but this was our 1st trip w/o the family. We'll be back in the fall. Thanks to our Hosts at the Avondale. DF/CF"
