Staying at the Dormer House was exactly what we could hope for on a vacation. Nancy and the entire staff were incredibly hospitable and kind, the property was quaint and comfortable, and the breakfast was superior. Our stay was extremely relaxing and comfortable - I couldn't recommend it more!
Location was perfect, walking distance to the beach and to the Washington Street mall. The breakfasts were delicious, and the afternoon teas were perfect. I especially enjoyed spending time on the front porch.
Just had a wonderful stay in the Smith Cottage attached to the main house. The cottage was a full sized apartment with bedroom, living room, kitchen and bath. The house is beautifully kept with delicious breakfast served on the porch. Afternoon cookies and tea were a nice touch. It's a five minute walk to the beach and I appreciated the beach chairs and towels they supply. It's also a 5 minute walk to the Washington Street mall and downtown.
Great location, close to beach and Washington Mall area. It's an old house with lots of character, however narrow steps to room and difficult to get in and out of tub. There are no safety bars. Perfect for couples but can be difficult for older adults, Loved the breakfast and tea time with very tasty home cooked cookies.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Dormer House. A home away from home, experiencing a Victorian charm and history. Breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning! Nancy and the staff were conscientious in their efforts to make guests comfortable.
Wonderful place, so charming like you are stepping back in time, breakfast was delicious and served with a smile!
Definitely a place to stay over and over again!
B&B within walking distance of beach, shopping restuarants & night life. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was amazing everyday! So nice to have a private parking lot to assure always having a spot.
Will definitely be back.
Great location! The staff was great! My only “complaint “ was the lack of privacy due to the window ac unit. It was very hot so the unit needed to be running the entire time. There are no shades or blinds only drapes so they needed to stay open to not cover the unit. So no privacy and the room was bright as day around 5:00 AM. Other than that we absolutely loved it.
We loved our stay at the Dormer House. Authentic old Cape May, quiet neighborhood, easy walk to just about everything. This is not a 'bells and whistles' place, more like going to visit a cherished old family member. Perfect!
Great hot breakfast served every morning was one of the highlights of our trip. The B&B is well decorated and maintained. It is located with walking distance to Washington street or the beach. We have lived there 5 years ago and would like to come back in the future!
We booked this property for a weekend getaway! It was the perfect and cozy spot that was walkable to many amazing shops and restaurants! The breakfast each morning was amazing and a plus! We really enjoyed our stay!

Breakfast was so delicious and very generous portions. Off street parking is a wonderful amenity for Cape May
Nancy was a great welcome with afternoon tea and treats and the breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and bathtub wonderful.
However some ceiling alarm beeped at 5am for awhile and eventually shut off and the bed mattress was not too comfortable.
My room was clean as was the bathroom. The staff were available if needed but stayed in the background so that you felt a sense of independence as if it were your own property. Breakfasts were wonderful and plentiful. And in the afternoon tea and cookies awaited guests in the lobby. Most rooms require climbing stairs but there are a few on the main floor for anyone with limited mobility. I highly recommend the Dormer House.

Beautiful up kept place with delicious breakfasts and cookies
Very Victorian!
Everything was wonderful about the dormer house we had requested through Expedia. Hey, room on the ground floor since we have trouble with stairs. As it turned out, Expedia did not forward our request. And therefore, we were given a room on an upper floor which was extremely difficult for us. The staff at dormerhouse did everything they could to make our accommodations safe and comfortable
What is that going to do
