Friends wedding

House was very nice however communication with the host was not so great. I reached out several times about early check in as we were attending an out of town wedding and wanted a place to change before We were told we could check in at 2 and then never received the code.

Unable to reach host leading up to the reservation. Had to contact customer support to get in touch with them. Host then responded night before our stay telling us we would get check in instructions the next morning. Instead the morning of our stay the host cancelled our reservation

Host “Stephanie” was very slow to respond and never picks up the phone or returns calls, although they provided an alt number as they were getting bombarded with over 60 job applicants? Vrbo csr and I attempted multiple times to get check in information(should be provided 3 days prior to c/i), they were unresponsive. Approximately 145pm in day of, I pulled up onto property and saw garbage cans blocking the driveway. My elderly father knocked on the door and no one answered. After sending messages again multiple times thru Vrbo regarding the cans and door, they replied and said the cleaners didn’t let them know and the house was ready? After finally checking in, my 7 pound dog and I went into the fenced yard, and my dog ran underneath the deck, disappeared and no where to be found. I attempted to call the phone numbers provided by the host, messaged the urgency for help. I wanted to verify if they had cameras. They said only in front and back yet they couldn’t provide footage of my dog? My family and I ran thru the neighborhood, called 911, neighbors looked out. We eventually found him in someone’s yard stuck in a bush. He escaped through the gaps in the fence. The host asked me to send them pics as the fence is 6 months old?After the nightmarish check in and first day experience, we made the best of our stay. Admittedly the house is nice and clean, had enough toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Short drive to shopping, beach, zoo, restaurants.
