This little house was perfect for our group, very close to several floating options & a couple of places to eat, including right near Granny D's! The back deck was nice to relax on the cool nights & beds were comfortable. Would stay here again when visiting the area.
We had to plan a very quick weekend when our plans changed thanks to hurricane Beryl. Found this listing and it was great. Very clean. We were very comfortable and close to Canyon Lake.
I give my stay this past weekend at Guadalupe Getaway in Canyon Lake a 4 out of 5 rating. The property on the other hand, I would give a 3 out of 5.
We loved the location! It was convenient to anywhere we wanted to be, including the wedding we were there for.
The property could have had some improvements.
The entry road was not leveled and a little difficult to get through. The water in the house had a particular smell to it, almost rotten, and had a yellowish hue to it. It was very discomforting to shower sometimes, and the toilet bowl water was yellow, even after flushing.
The owner specified for us to wash dishes that were used, but the water pressure in the kitchen was light and trickling. There could have been more shades on some the windows and doors to offer more privacy. Anybody with binoculars from a distance could've seen into the kitchen, master bedroom, and one other bedroom. Also, one of doors to the shared restroom didn't lock. This was an inconvenience.
I would not mind staying here again if things mentioned were updated. Thank You.
Cottage was nice and big for our group. We were there for our Daughter's wedding, and very close to venue so several people stopped by throughout the week so plenty of room to sit for a cup of coffee. The coffee pot was for ground coffee, no Kuerig. Water in the kitchen only trickled so dish washer didn't work so we had to wash dishes in the bathroom. Back porch view had some stacks of old pallets and storage area. BUT there were deer in the field every day which was fun to see. The bedrooms did not have sufficient curtains so lacked enough privacy. Even living room drapes did not close completely. You could still gain total darkness in bedrooms to sleep, no outdoor light pollution. If there during the week there was quite a bit of road noise and business across street started with construction vehicles early. Back bedroom was much quieter. Cottage was very clean, the mattresses and pillows were clean. Mattresses were firm and beds were squeaky. Refrigerator has broken shelves but plenty big to hold soda and snacks. AC and Heat both worked well. Shower was fine be sure to look under sink for soap and shampoo and hair dryer etc. Washer and dryer worked well, I washed all the linens due to personal allergies. Dollar General close. Several bars, restaurants and gas stations close. Wanted to try Ganny D for breakfast on Wednesday morning at 9am. They were so packed they asked us to wait outside for 30 minutes. It was too cold so we went elsewhere. Wicked Pizza was good.

The house was run down. The floors were uneven and broken. The doors wouldnt close because they were to small for the door frames. All the sheets had stains on them. There where holes in the walls and most of the curtains were torn down. The pictures of the place where old and hid alot. Also the grounds were all torn up it was hard to even drive in.
Our stay was great
It was exactly what we were looking for. Communication was great, answering questions about the property prior to renting. Beautiful place.
The house was fine - in a nice area. Upon arriving, not a water bottle or even enough coffee to make one small pot. It is the little things that make people happy. But overall, I would stay again.

Beware of the water
The house is cute and clean, you can tell it's freshly remodeled, although a lot of the renovations are very rough and clearly not professionally done. We enjoyed our stay. The location is a bit dangerous, right on the main road, lots of road traffic noise. The one thing that would make me not choose this house again was the water smell. The owner says it's Sulphur in the well water. Whatever it is, it smells like sewer and rotten eggs. Whenever you use the sink or toilet there's an overwhelming stench. I could not bring myself to use it to brush my teeth so I needed bottled water. I did have to use the shower but again it was awful. The smell did not last on me or in my hair but the smell made me nauseous. I contacted the owner who assured me it was "typically not a health concern."

It was okay, but disappointed
During our visit to the house this week, we encountered several issues that we brought to the attention of the property manager after we left. To begin, the grounds appear to have been neglected. The grass was significantly overgrown, and the rose bushes had extended across the porch area. As one of our guests has a rose allergy, I took it upon myself to trim the bushes for their safety. Additionally, there was a notable ant infestation near the porch entrance.Around the property and along the fence line, several dead branches were observed. Inside the house, it seemed that a thorough cleaning had not been done recently—there were numerous dead insects, including some on the bedsheets. The room with the bunk beds also lacked curtains, offering no privacy. In the Jack and Jill bathroom, we found and removed a substantial hair clog. Another bathroom had a similar issue, though it was less severe. Lastly, the dryer’s lint tray had not been emptied.Additionally, on our third day at the property, a "For Sale" sign was placed outside. When we contacted the management company, we were told we would receive a call back. Instead, the following morning we received a text stating that it was nothing to be concerned about. This lack of clear and timely communication was disappointing. We hope these items can be addressed to improve the experience for future guests.
