About this property

Glamping Airstream by Palo Duro Canyon w/Fire Pit

  • Summary:

A renovated airstream on our Palo Duro Canyon Base Camp compound near Canyon, TX. Sleeps 3 with a private fire pit out back, a BBQ grill, a garage for gear, and pet-friendly policies with prior approval. Built for couples, solo travelers, and small families who want a memorable canyon-side glamping stay, not another hotel room. Stand-alone stay, or pair with another cabin or the main home on the same compound for a larger group booking.

    The Space:

This is one of the renovated airstreams on our compound, comfortable for 3 guests with a one-bedroom, one-bathroom layout. The airstream sits in its own quiet pocket of the acreage, so step-out-the-door views and night-sky access are part of the stay.

Inside, you will find a compact, well-designed living and sleeping space with a flat-screen TV, wireless internet, and air conditioning for warmer afternoons. The kitchen is small but functional, with a fridge, stove, and the basics for morning coffee and a simple cooked meal.

Outside is where the trip happens: a private fire pit for the evening, a BBQ grill for steak nights and breakfast cookouts, and a garage for gear, bikes, or whatever the canyon trip throws at you. The acreage around the airstream is wide and quiet, and the Texas Panhandle stars get loud once the sun goes down.

The airstream is pet-friendly with prior approval and a pet fee. Smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher are on site for safety.

If your group is larger than 3, the airstream pairs with our other cabins, the tiny home, the main house, or the bunker on the same compound. The full property is available as one booking for groups up to 28, which makes the airstream a fun add-on for the spillover member of a bigger group who wants their own night-sky cabin.

    Guest Access:

You will have private access to the airstream, the fire pit, the BBQ grill, the garage, and the parking right at the unit. Self check-in. We send access details, a parking map, and a short orientation a day before arrival, so the trip starts with a fire, a steak, and a quiet first evening.

    The Neighborhood:

We sit in Canyon, TX, the small town wrapped around Palo Duro Canyon. The main park entrance off State Highway 217 is a short drive from our gate, which puts the Lighthouse Trail, the rim road, and Pioneer Amphitheatre easy day-of choices. The TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm from June through August on the amphitheatre stage inside the park. Downtown Canyon has the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, West Texas A&M University, and a handful of local BBQ and Tex-Mex spots within a few miles. Amarillo is a short drive north on I-27 for the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Cadillac Ranch off I-40. Days are rim hikes and museum afternoons. Nights are fire-pit smoke and starlight.

    Getting Around:

A rental car is required. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is the closest commercial airport, with a straightforward drive south on I-27 to Canyon, then west on Country Club Road. Rideshare options in Canyon are limited. Parking is on the property at the airstream.

    Other Things to Note:

This is a renovated airstream on a working rural compound at the edge of the canyon. The fire pit is open-air, so check wind and burn-ban conditions before lighting. Please do not climb or sit on the airstream roof. Cell signal varies by carrier on the acreage. Pets must be supervised on the unfenced shared acreage. Stars here are unreal.

    Interaction with Guests:

We respect your privacy. No one is on site full-time. Our team is on call from early morning to late evening Texas time and typically responds within an hour during the day. Message us through the booking platform for anything from a thermostat question to a canyon trailhead recommendation.
