Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Forest

8/10 Good

"Nice place"

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Forest by IHG

8/10 Good

"OK, we liked the hotel & the location even though it was nearing, but had not reached, the end of a renovation. Clean, quiet, very helpful evening desk clerk who was working by herself. The problems: we were greeted in our room by a large dead cockroach (not unusual in a MS construction zone), we could not connect to Wi-Fi using last name & room # - fortunately we had both created individual accts several yrs ago, one plug between the beds was dead, too many light sources in the room when you turned the lights out, the bathtub was slick without any mat/traction, the breakfast was dismal - too many carbs/no fruit in sight. All of this sounds bad in total but each petty gripe was easily dealt with. It was still a nice place with nice staff in a great location. We will stop there again after the renovation is complete. However, there was one intractable issue. The elevator call button was inoperable on the 2nd floor. It was a byproduct of the construction, there was signage at the elevator announcing the problem, but to get off the 2nd floor you either had to take the stairs (impracticable for little old people with luggage) or stand outside the elevator door and hope it stopped. This we viewed as a significant safety issue that should have triggered an emergency repair visit…even though it was a weekend. I am sure it was fixed on Monday but on Saturday & Sunday it was a problem. Fellow guests looked out for each other, ownership (NOT THE STAFF!) failed the guests."

2 Bedroom in Decatur, MS. On Golf Course, ECCC, & Zack Garvin Steakhouse-

10/10 Excellent

"I am so grateful to the host for offering this great house for use. The location sits just off the road near the ECCC campus and adjacent to a quiet 9 hole golf course. Newton, MS is about a 20 minute drive for restaurants, groceries and any needed supplies. The accommodations were perfect for our extended visit to Decatur. The house was spacious, clean and had all the needed essentials. We make a few trips to this area during the year and typically stay in downtown Meridian but we will definitely look to rebook this property for all future travel to the area. Thank you, again, to the host for everything."

8/10 Good

"We stayed for a 1-night hurricane getaway with 8 family members. The games (skeeball, foosball, arcade) were a definitely a hit with the teens. The separate rooms were great, but it's helpful to know that some of the beds are doubles (not queens). We also could have used more kitchen utensils, like a non-metal spatula to protect the pans. And while it is out in the country and peaceful at night, the house sits on a major road with some fast cars at times (a consideration for small children or pets). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, cozy decor and appreciated the ability to be together during a hurricane evacuation."

Rural Retreat: ‘Cypress Lake’ By Roosevelt St Park

10/10 Excellent

"We enjoyed everything about our stay. Plenty of room and thoroughly enjoyed the pool table. Great hospitality of the host. Recommend the shorter entrance from interstate 20. Very private. Will be remembered as a moment together before our 2nd oldest's wedding."
