  • I've always wanted to visit the beaches south of Palolem, and this time managed to see Patnem, Talpona and Galgibaga. This is at Patnem - as crowded and touristy as Palolem...just a little smaller. For a really beautiful quiet beach I would recommend Galgibaga, a few kilometres further south.

Nearly all of them are built anew at the beginning of the tourist season and dismantled in April or May before the summer monsoon hits. The torrential rain and high water of these storms would likely tear them apart otherwise, and Goa's government wants to keep the hotels here small-scale and simple. They're also generally very reasonably priced.
