Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Cambs?
The best area to stay in Cambs is the area directly surrounding Lake Cambs, particularly in the village of Cambs itself.

This area offers direct access to the lake, which is the main attraction. The village is compact, with a few local eateries and shops, and provides a tranquil setting. You'll find properties with views of the water and easy access to walking paths along the shore.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find this area particularly appealing. You can enjoy strolls along the lake, take out a boat, or simply unwind in a peaceful setting away from larger towns. The focus here is on natural beauty and quiet enjoyment.

For those who appreciate the convenience of being close to nature while still having good road links to explore the wider Mecklenburg region, staying near Lake Cambs is ideal.
When is the best time to go to Cambs?
The best time to go to Cambs is typically between May and September, when the weather is at its most pleasant for outdoor activities.

This period is great for enjoying activities like boating on Lake Cambs, cycling along the scenic paths, or simply relaxing by the water.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will particularly appreciate the quieter atmosphere in late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September). The landscape is beautiful, and there are fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more serene experience.

For families, the summer months of July and August offer the best opportunities for swimming and water sports, with the lakes being at their warmest.
