I always stay here, what's not to like? Maybe a privacy curtain when you open the timber screen covering your glass door, everyone can see in,
In the suburbs, Palm Royale Cairns is in an area with good shopping. Reef Fleet Terminal and Cairns Marlin Marina are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those in the mood for shopping can visit Cairns Central Shopping Centre and Cairns Night Markets. Esplanade Lagoon and Cairns Aquarium are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including segway rentals/tours.

Quite a way out of town so if you don't have a car & are not with a coach tour it could be a very awkward location. The 'shuttle bus' service was always minimal but has recently been cut to nothing between 8.30am to 5.30pm. First shuttle is also too late for some trips. The first room I had was VERY loud, traffic noise plus paper thin walls. I then moved into a very odd smelling room, only on checkout did I find out the reason for the smell after reporting seeing some large cockroaches in the room in the morning, they said they'd 'spray it again'! So...i wouldn't recommend it basically. Shady area, but is free car parking if that is what you need and some of the reception people were nice. One receptionist was exceptionally rude to me when I raised some valid issues but it was dealt with.
