The owners were very friendly and helpful. Flexible as to breakfast as our plans changed one day due to weather. The view out of the dining area was of a bay with a mountain in the background. Spectacular! Location was perfect as a base for the Kerry, Dingle and Skellig loop drives. We spent four night and enjoyed the entire time.

The Blue Door House was just stunning! The scenery, the whole house and Anja was the best host. So welcoming, breakfast was just amazing and even gave us tips of places we should visit. I would 100% recommend staying here!

An ideal stay along the Ring of Kerry
Outstanding B and B. Anja is super hospitable and lovely. The room was immaculate, and huge. Giant, comfy king-sized bed. Incredible views from our room. the entire B and B felt like a luxury mansion. Anja cooked us a delicious breakfast. The area is great, too. On Anja's recommendation, we had dinner at The Point, a great fish restaurant down the road. The resto was a great taste of local flavours--both the food, and the locals. Blue Door house was the nicest place we've stayed in Ireland so far. Highly recommended for a restful night's sleep along the Ring of Kerry!

What a treat! I wish I could have spent more time here unfortunately I only had 1 night. It was very peaceful to wake up and have a cup of coffee on the patio and watch the ducks and chickens walking around. The view was beautiful! The owners were both very friendly and helpful. Did I mention that it was PEACEFUL?! I really can’t wait to book this again.

Perfect place to stay before Skelligs adventure
The Blue Door House is a treasure! Anja and Gary are marvelous hosts and could teach a class on how to run a BnB. The view from the back deck is one you'll never forget, an Irish sunset that can't be missed. And the animals! There are 4 lovely dogs, that you''ll want to take home with you. Also there are some horses, ducks, and chickens. My only complaint is that I only had one night to enjoy the Blue Door House. Don't make the same mistake, book 2 nights.

We really liked the Blue Door house. Our room was lovely with a spacious en-suite and we had a great view looking out on to the garden. The bed was comfortable and the whole place spotlessly clean with a few living spaces to sit with your glass of wine or a chat. There was access to the kitchen to make tea and coffee or to use the fridge and we felt we had plenty of room and privacy. The location was very easy to find and you will be surprised how spacious it is inside. Also good about the location is that there is a terrific fish pub down the road about 2 minutes by car. The people running the pub are very welcoming but if you want something else there’s the town of Cahirciveen too not too far away with restaurants. We must say that Anna the host of Blue Door was wonderful and cooked us a nice breakfast each day and passed on a lot of local knowledge about the area. She was very welcoming and we had such a nice stay would consider returning for a longer stay. We highly recommend this property.

Blue door house was beautiful, unique experience for a fair price! The room was clean and comfortable. The experience was much like staying in a friend’s wonderfully maintained guest room in a modern, recently renovated house. Breakfast the next day was phenomenal - by far the best hotel breakfast I had during my visit to Ireland. The owner Anja was wonderful! Very kind and cool. When we arrived, there was a sign out front with her number to call because she lives next door.

Amazing Bed and Breakfast!! Anja and her husband were amazing hosts! The room was spacious and the view of the garden was gorgeous!! The breakfast was delicious and they were so helpful with any questions I had!! Would highly recommend this B&B to everyone, and would be happy to stay there again should I come back!

My Mom and I spent 2 nights at the Blue Door. Anja keeps it spotless, her cooking is amazing and we had quick access to the Skellig Ring drive and Portamagee for the Zmichsel Skellig boat tour. I would definitely stay again!

We loved the location as it is close to the restaurants, a supermarket and the neighbouring village from where the boats leave to take people out to the island of Skillig Michael. It is about a 15 to 20 minute drive to the the departure point. The food at the local restaurant was very good too. When I woke up in the morning, it was a delight to see their ducks going about their daily routine of wadding about to get their food which was followed by a splash in the pool to wash it down. The owners are very friendly, warm and considerate of the needs of their visitors.

Very nice B&B in South-West Ireland
We felt very welcome in this beautiful B&B. The hostess and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. We stayed in a nice, spacious and quiet room with a view on the beautiful garden. The B&B is an excellent starting point for tours and trips along the Ring of Kerry and the whole south western part of the country. The ferry to the Valentia Island (with its cliffs and magnificent outlooks) is very near. Nice towns and beaches are easily to visit by car.

Positiv: Leckeres selbstgemachtes Frühstück. Sehr sauber. Nette Gastgeber und gute Tipps für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Negativ: Das Bad für unser Dreierzimmer war über den Eingangsflur neben der Haustür, ein typisches Gäste-WC mit Dusche: supereng und keine Ablagefläche. Besagter Flur war außerdem wunderbar vom Ess- und Wohnbereich einsehbar, sodass man nicht im Schlafanzug oder gar unbekleidet (zB nach dem Aufwachen oder Duschen) vom Bad ins Zimmer oder umgekehrt gehen konnte, was wir sehr unangenehm fanden. Das ging aus der Bezeichnung "eigenes Bad" nicht hervor. Dass wir zu dritt das kleinste Bad von allen Zimmern hatten, fanden wir auch etwas merkwürdig. Außerdem hatten wir im Gegensatz zu den kleineren Zimmern keinen Kleiderschrank, sondern nur eine nicht besonders große Kommode. Die merkwürdige Zimmeraufteilung resultiert wohl daraus, dass es sich beim Blue Door House um das privat vermietete Wohnhaus der Besitzer handelt. Wenn man nicht das Dreier- sondern eins der anderen Zimmer hat, ist es aber wahrscheinlich okay.
