The village is a short walk away over the fields or along the lane and the beautiful community-owned pub Tyn Llan is well worth a visit. A private track leads directly from Bodfan Bach through farmland and yellow iris meadows to the quiet end of the beach at Dinas Dinlle. The busier end of the beach near the car park has a fish and chip shop as well as Braf- a cafe and studio serving amazing homemade cakes, seasonal and locally sourced breakfast and lunch menu, local ales and ice creams. They also organise boot camps on the beach or personalised yoga sessions for those of us who dont fancy too much exertion on holiday!
Back at the house, everything is as perfect as you'd expect it to be. The large lawned garden is sheltered and enclosed and has dining and lounging terraces and a beautiful old courtyard area. The kitchen is bright and airy and leads through to the sitting/dining room with its incredible original oak beams and woodburing stove in the inglenook. Beyond is the cinema room where you can choose from a huge selection of DVD's, switch on the wall projector, close the blinds, open the popcorn and slump in the squishy sofas for a few hours. Beats a multiplex any day!
Also on the ground floor is the boot room which opens into the courtyard and also has a useful shower room which is perfect for washing the beach off. Even here there are original features and thoughful lighting and furnishing.
Upstairs there are three sizeable king size bedrooms. The master has an ensuite WC and Basin and TV and all bedrooms are light and bright with views over the countryside. One of the bedrooms has a sofa bed which turns it into a useful family room. There is also a family bathroom on this floor with bath and separate shower.
