Luminaka Luminescence
We had an amazing time in Playa Grande. The Casa is in walking distance from the beach, surf lessons, a small market, multiple terrific restaurants and the water taxi to Tamarindo. We spent hours in the naturally heated pool, grilled out a time or two and generally lazed about in air conditioned comfort. Shawna was super responsive and answered our every question. Highly recommend.

Close to Beach, Restaurants, Activities
Home was as described. Lots of new housing construction on way to home and in area. Enjoyed an estuary boat tour that departed within a few blocks of the home. During our three nights day, we saw monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds from the house. The house had all amenities needed, including pool/beach towels. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat. Nice quiet property, very roomy. Once at the house it’s a bit of a ride to go back to town so bringing some groceries was a great idea. Enjoyed several outdoor nearby restaurants. All in all very satisfied and would return. Host was available and welcoming.

Cousy place, always!
We've been a few times in Casa Luminaka already and we can't get enough of the good things; the house is clean and safe, our kids love the pool and with time you feel this is your second home. You're sharing the pool so there is always an opportunity to make new friends! We did short walks to the beach in the mornings, it's easy to feel connected to nature; birds, monkeys, new sounds and animals set the stage to a beach where you find the peace of mind we're looking for in our vacations.

Beautiful spot.
Great location. Peaceful environment. Easy walk to the beach. Lots of beautiful birds. Pool was lovely and very clean. Pack an umbrella if it is the rainy season!

Very Relaxing Time
Thank you for a wonderful stay. We loved the casita with its nice pool. One of the nicest treats was the beautiful beach with virtually no one on it. We also appreciated having some English language television, such as prime, video, and Netflix.

This was an amazing spot, 5-8 min walk to the beach, all the restaurants super close, staff super friendly….pool was a must! Shawna was great with anything we needed, checking and out easy peasy and all communication prompt and effortless. stayed in Palm beach about 10 times, one of our favorites🥰 thanks for an amazing trip!!

Amazing!!
Perfect location with 10 Min walk to empty waves. Villa was clean, comfortable and complex of 6 units offered plenty of privacy. Pool was steps away which was perfect for us to view our son in the pool. We loved it and would definitely stay again!!

Location and accommodation was very good. Close to beach and the pool was excellent. Internet was fast. I just wish the community of PG Estates had a recycling program. And they should invest more in road repairs.

My wife and family had a great time staying at the barefoot bungalows. Our 5-10 minute walk to the beach made our stay very special. Shawna was very attentive and helped us find transportation and offered guidance above and beyond our expectations. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

A very nice vacation
We visited for a week over the Christmas holiday and were quite comfortable here. It is easy to find, and near enough to the beach to walk twice a day. The neighborhood is very quiet, but a short boat taxi ( or a 45 minute drive) away from busy Tamarindo. The house is well equipped and we were able to cook full meals in the kitchen. We felt that we got a good value for our money but know that others may have higher expectations in amenities. The hotel across the road serves good cocktails and the market around the corner has great tacos for 1500 each. We'll be back.

Relaxing by the beach
The entire experience was just wonderful. The property is conveniently located close to the beach, about a 5 minute walk, local restaurants, and a surf shop. The beds were comfortable and the unit was clean when we arrived. The refrigerator was new and was very nice (many similar units that we have stayed at in the area only provide a very small refrigerator). The air conditioner had died just before we arrived and they installed a brand new unit so our room was just right. The beach is fantastic and a surfers paradise. The manager was very responsive and arranged for extras like laundry service. She even sent her husband to pick us up from another rental in the area where we stayed the previous 2 weeks (it would have been difficult to transport our luggage without a vehicle). We don’t recommend the other rental we stayed at, though....so it was a refreshing upgrade staying at the Barefoot Bungalow! Pura Vida.

Property needs work
We had issues with our casita so we had to move out. Jorge took very good care of us and we could see he was taking care of the issue we had. We moved into another casita on the property that was better stocked and overall better. The Barefoot bungalow needs to be better stocked with kitchen items and housing items in general. Our friends stayed next door to us and their unit was much nicer and had floaties for the pool and lots of extras items in the unit which made it nicer. We will not stay at the Barefoot Bungalow again but would stay in another unit within the property.

Love this Casa and the location
Casa Charly 5 is well appointed. It is very convenient for each bedroom to have a dedicated bathroom. It is also very conveniently located near restaurants, a small supermarket and more importantly the beach! I would definitely stay there again.

Endroit magnifique dans la nature
Le logement est très propre, confortable et joli. Par contre les chaises sur le patio sont en très mauvais états! On pouvait voir des visses sortir des chaises à l'extérieur, très dangereux! Dommage car l'endroit est magnifique avec air conditionné dans les 2 chambres. La piscine était très propre et nous avions l'endroit à nous seul durant presque tout le séjour. Beaucoup d'arbres fruitiers sur le terrain. Endroit très tranquille. Prendre note que l'épicerie voisine de notre maison était fermée durant notre séjour et les restaurants étaient tous fermés. On a donc du louer une voiture pour aller faire les courses. Les restos ont ré-ouverts début novembre pour la période touristique. Je recommande chaleureusement l'endroit.

Great little home with a semi-private pool!
The bungalow was clean, very comfortable, perfect for our family of 4. The in/out procedure was easy. Close to beaches and a few good restaurants. Definitely recommend this house.

The place needs updating furniture and restocking kitchen items but both mattresses are brand new which is a plus and this is the only bungalow of the 6 that has 2 bath rooms. Living room sofas and patio/dining chairs are not comfortable and the BBQ needs to be replaced. There is also an iguana that lives above the pool and regularly poops into the pool. Water was often uninviting from lack of chlorine.

Beautiful natural area, great condo and beach!
Love Costa Rica! Well kept condo and property, beautiful beach. Definitely recommend a car while here to see other areas and get groceries. No bank machine right here so bring cash with you! A great, authentic Costa Rican experience!!

Loved this house! Had two bedrooms with two full baths which is great for two couples or a family. Close to great restaurants, the most beautiful Playa Grande beach! We had the pool pretty much to ourselves the whole time. Got to meet a lot of wonderful, friendly people in the other units. My only suggestion is one bedroom had a very comfortable bed but the other bed was quite uncomfortable, needs a better mattress and maybe better cushions on the couches. Property managers Shawna and Jorge were terrific and helped us with whatever we needed. It will be great when the grocery store right beside reopens as it will make it more convenient. Would recommend kike’s restaurant, cafe Del mar and Bula bula for eating. Water taxi is very easy and cheap to get to tamarindo for shopping. Lots of great restaurants there, witches rock has great bar food! Would recommend this place to my friends and family. This was a wonderfully relaxing holiday!

Peaceful, remote, tropical paradise.
A cute, clean and comfortable casita, perfect for a family of four. Clever architecture and interesting visual touches throughout--especially cool ceilings and bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. Wi-fi worked great. The pool, seemed a little unappealing at first, but it was cleaned daily and ended up being my favorite part of the house. So refreshing, and you can float on your back and watch parrots and hummingbirds. Why not 5 stars? First, the furniture in the living room is just concrete slabs with thin mattresses. Looks cute but not comfortable. Same goes for the mattresses on the beds. "Beach equipment provided" consisted of some ancient rusty folding chairs and quite a few unusable broken beach umbrellas." Such an inexpensive thing for the owners to fix, and it would have made a big difference. Finally, no AC in the living area, just the bedrooms. This would probably be fine most of the year, but we were there during a dry season heat wave, and we really wished the living area had AC. These are really minor issues, though, and would not prevent me from renting the house again. It really was lovely. Property managers are good communicators and were available throughout stay. Be aware that it's a bit of a hike to the beach. I'm lazy and made my husband drive!
