"We made a last minute booking for our family at this hotel. The location was superb as was the quality of the hotel. The rooms felt very spacious and private, there was a great kids pool as well as a huge main pool and even a lovely seaside terrace with access to the ocean. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful - they would do everything possible to help with our every request BUT there were not enough staff - particularly at the breakfast buffet. The staff were so overwhelmed and could not keep up with the demand which meant it could be hard to find a clean table, a plate or even sometimes food. There was also no children’s menu for dinners and the dinner service was late by UK kids standards. We have fussy eaters which meant this was very difficult for us to navigate. Again the staff were so great - always trying to help us. Food wise for the adults it was fabulous - we absolutely loved the Japanese restaurant right on the waters edge. It’s been an incredible holiday and I would highly recommend for families. "

"It’s amazing if you have your own car and are able to move around. Breakfast is good, the rooms are a little old but they are comfortable and clean, the staff is very kind. I’ve stayed at this hotel for the last 4 or 5 summer vacations. It’s an amazing place to stay if you want to explore the area."

"Property was excellent. The kitchenette was great, bathroom and living area were spacious. Air conditioning worked very well and balcony was shaded in the afternoon and large enough for two. Free parking could be challenging. The bed was quite firm. "

"Fantastic!! We had such a wonderful time the two nights we stayed at Hotel Scala and wish we stayed longer! We arrived our first night very late and were ravenous from our travels that day, the staff offered us dinner right after we got settled in at the restaurant on the property. We got wine and the spaghetti vongole, which was delicious. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cold which was lovely to come back to at the end of the day. The two men who ran the place were extremely helpful in giving directions to the Main town Ortigia as well as helping us with anything we needed! Lovely place & lovely people! The only thing we wish was different was the location being closer to the main town, other than that it was great! "

"This hotel is set in the countryside and is beautifully coverted series of farmhouses. The pool is surrounded by sun loungers with a garden begind, perfect for lunch. I also had dinner in the courtyard adn breakfast in the hall, both great settings. The staff were very friendky, the food was excellent. "
