About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
One block from Main Street, free parking, pets allowed
This is a quant historic (1820) home just off of Main street in the village of Williamsville, walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping and a waterfall. The accommodation is all on the ground floor with one double bedroom, 2 porches and backyard patio (upstairs is not in use). As the house is old, the layout is unconventional, the bathroom is off the kitchen and a bit of a walk from the bedroom, so bear this in mind before booking.
Although close to the action it is set in a quiet neighborhood, flanked by a beautiful cemetery to the front and a duck pond to the side. Walking distance to a choice of restaurants, bars and the entrance to Glen Park with it's beautiful waterfall is just steps away.
Steps to Main street with around 10 restaurants, 3 breweries, 2 ice cream parlors and countless shopping opportunities. The entrance to Glen Park and Amherst State Park are steps away with walking trails for dog walking and a river for fishing opportunities.
*This house is from 1820, the roof lines are not straight and neither are the floors, please bear this in mind before booking. The fridge has condiments which you are welcome to use. The freezer may also have items belonging to the owner*

House is exactly as described, very clean, all modern comforts, historic neighbourhood and really attractive, cute home. Tess very helpful and easy to communicate with. Would be very happy to return.
We loved this village house in our home town! We hadn't been back in a few years & the location was perfect for visiting all of our old haunts and some new too! The house was rustic and charming, just perfect for our 8 night stay. Everything was clean and perfectly described in the listing. The house manual was percise and loaded with information about the area and things to do. My husband and I grew up in Amherst/Williamsville so we were very familiar with everything but if we had never been, the information was fantastic! The host Tess was very nice & quick to respond. We definitely hope this house is available every time we come back as it is THE place to stay.
Tess’s house was nicely located, easy walking distance to restaurant and stores. The house is old and a little quirky but so is our home, which made it fine for us. Overall we enjoyed our stay and give it a 9/10.
As we arrived and tried to access the house, we had to contact Tess who gave us the wrong code. Response was quick, but it took a good 10-15 minutes to figure out we weren’t doing something wrong, it was her. All after an 8 hr. drive.
There was dog poo in the yard (that wasn’t from ours), which got tracked through the house and was a terrible mess.
The grass is high and there are weeds growing all around the house.
The heat is programmed, turning off and on at certain times, so it’s quite cold when you rise in the morning. I’d prefer that be my call.
There’s no way to wipe your feet when coming back inside in the kitchen, so leaves got tracked through the house and we were constantly trying to keep up with that.
The exterior is falling down, especially at the porch where you park, and the entire roof over the bathroom. We were seriously concerned!
This one is on me~ the master bed is a DOUBLE bed. And the bathroom is clear across the house. I should have checked more closely.
Tess promised “out of good faith” to refund a small portion of 1 night because we needed to leave early (which is very nice, and she didn’t have to) but she came up with every excuse why she couldn’t. So even though she said she would, she never kept her word.
I don’t recommend staying here, and won’t be going back.
