Clean. Nice staff. Breakfast items were almost gone an hour before breakfast time was over. No one seem to monitor the supply. Really nice pool area But pool water was ice cold and hot tub not working.

We are so sorry you had a bad Breakfast experience, with your stay during our sold out weekend. With a sell out, we did our best to prepare for breakfast and stumbled on that. Yes, our pool is beautiful but cold! Being in a "Sun Room" The temperature depends on the temp around the few days before or after. We are happy the hotel was clean and our staff was nice! Thank you so much for bringing all of this to our attention!

Nice quiet, clean facility with friendly staff. Only tiny negative was that bathroom door didnt stay closed very well. Overall, very nice hotel that's 22 minutes from Bolivar. Recommend!

Overall ive stayed here 5 times in the last few years. Only 1 time has the pool actually been a decent temp. The other trips it has been cold or closed. The price should be adjusted for the pool not being usable as that is a main reason for booking this location. Probably will book at another location next time.

Thank you for your review! Our pool is only open from May until October. If you were not here during those times I am so sorry you missed out! Our pool is unfortunately unheated. We do have discounted Winter Rates, however booking through and online source usually adds extra due to their costs to run their business and like all business' taxes. It is the only hotel in town. Hot water was plentiful. Larger fridge and small microwave. No clock. No phone. No pictures. No coffee maker. TV would not work, front desk was no help. Unpainted wall repairs, bit of upper mold in the bath and a non-ADA toilet. Totally functional room for two nights, and I only needed it to shower and sleep. Older propertybut comfy beds a x clean room and linens.

All of the staff were very friendly. We were welcomed early with information about local sites to see. We don't swim, but the pool looked nice. The shower was hot. Since we were gone most of the evening, we did not get a chance to check out the TV adequately. Our only suggestion was some round reflectors need to be placed to outline the entrance for old people like us who were coming in after dark. We will definitely be returning to this motel the next time we are in the area.

No phone in the room and they don't even publish a phone number so you can contact the front desk. TV doesn't work unless you have Google TV on your smart phone. No coffee maker. Wouldn't stay there again for nothing.

We're sorry you didn't have a good stay with us. You are correct, like a lot of hotels today, we don't have phones in the rooms. The phone number for our front desk is at the bottom of the receipt you received when you checked in.You are also correct, we haven't had coffee makers in the rooms since COVID. However, we have a large coffee urn in the breakfast area, along with a Keurig machine and a great selection of coffee pods.As for our TV's, they are all 42-inch smart TV's. As such, our guests have access to nearly 1,000 free channels that don't require a subscription. However, for those guests who want to access their personal Hulu, Netflix, or other subscription streaming services, they can get them on our TV's.Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, and we wish you would have come to talk with us so we could have gone over all this with you while you were here.

Bad floor plan (had to go down steps from the Lobby to my room which made loading/unloading difficult); lousy free breakfast; lobby door locked from 10 pm to 7 am and my key card didn’t work the exterior door. Luckily, I found a second entrance where the key card worked. Would not stay there ever again.

We are so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Not a lot we can do about the floor plan...it was built in 1995. We're also sorry you didn't like the breakfast. We recently added hot offerings, including gravy and biscuits and sausage. But it's fair to say that isn't to everyone's taste. At check-in, we tell our guests that the front two sets of doors lock at 10 p.m. Also, we have signs on both those doors advising they lock at 10 p.m. The key cards do not open those doors for security reasons. Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.

We have bigger 40-inch "smart" TV's in our rooms, with over 1,000 channels, but they are SO complicated. If only we had some teenagers...(remember back in our day when, as kids, WE were the TV remotes?) Hope to see you back soon!

We're sorry about the ice bucket and cups. Unfortunately, during COVID, a lot of hotels did away with cups and ice buckets, along with hot breakfasts and coffee makers in the rooms. At the Buffalo Lodge, we are returning to normal. We have re-started our hot breakfast, and will begin placing ice buckets and cups in the rooms again by the end of the month. Coffee makers may take a little longer, but we're definitely moving in the right direction. Again, sorry about the ice buckets and cups. See us again in June and I think you'll be pleased!

The property was very well kept and the staff was super nice! It’s located in the Midwest but this town and the people had a southern comfort to it! Also as a minority and solo female traveler I felt safe and the kindness felt genuine. I would definitely stay here again when in town, and also since pandemic started this the first hotel that Ive stayed where they had an microwave and also the big full length fridge was a plus as well!

Great Stay
I stayed the night in this hotel for a work trip. The location is fantastic. Right next to Walmart and close to several restaurants. Check in was friendly, prompt, and with out issue. My requests were met. Home made buffalo shaped cookies were available to guests. They were cute and tasty. I was advised on the best place to park for easier access to my room. My key card wouldn't unlock the door, but the gentleman rescanned it right away and walked to the door to assure it worked. The room was clean and comfortable. The furniture looked more like a home style setting, not generic hotel furnishings. The fridge w freezer was large, 5' or so. Plenty of room for a weeks worth of groceries. I was surprised to see a space heater in the room, but it was a newer model, quiet, and kept the room cozy. Wind-chill was 7⁰ outside. The room was toasty. Water pressure in the shower was one of the best I've found in my travels. The parking lot iced completely over night. Staff salted a path directly to my truck door. Upon leaving, I was unable to get up the small hill at the exit, due to the ice. I called the front desk, and the gentleman brought salt out, then guided me out while watching for traffic. The staff went beyond the normal standard by far. I'd stay here again, and would suggest it for above in the area.

The locked doors are a security precaution, (they will open from the inside, but not the outside after midnight). Would never stay there again. Website reservation said checkin was noon but when arrived at 2 were told checkin at 3. Had to argue and get mgr to be able to get a room so we could change and get to a wedding. Bed was terrible and carpet had pieces of paper on floor so didn’t appear it had been cleaned.

There was an issue during the night, no one was present after 10, so the cops had to be called. There was someone suppose to be there at 7am but no one came to the desk. My keys would not work to get back into the building or my room.

Really nice place to stay! Stayed here because all the hotels in Bolivar were sold out, but I will stay here again next time even though it's about 20 minutes east of Bolivar. Setting is very quiet, but a nice Woods grocery store is just down the street. Full-size refrigerator and microwave in room were nicer than I've seen in hotels costing much more. Smart TV with Roku was really nice.

The manager seemed nice, but he told me because I booked through Expedia he couldn't change my room. So he had to give me a master key to my door. Which wasn't a big deal until he showed how to use it. He struggled with getting my door open. He turned on the heat for me and I left the hotel for a couple hours. I got back to my room and my room was still freezing and the heater was blowing cold air. I didn't call the manager because it was too late. So, we pulled the space heater from the hallway. First thing in the morning called the manager told him what we did and that the heater wasn't working. Went to get breakfast and there was a sack of bagels and a half pot of cold coffee. Came back several hours later room smelled like a heater was turned on for the first time, but it was still freezing cold. I decided it was time to call Expedia and see if we could cancel our reservations. The call center had to call the manager first to confirm what I had said. She said he told her he fixed the heater and there was plenty of breakfast. She still let us cancel the reservation. So we went to pack up and the heater still wasn't working but he did go buy breakfast. I feel bad for this review because the manager seemed really nice, but he told me he couldn't switch our rooms and we couldn't stay in a room with no heater??

Roku TV in the room was great. Brand new pillows, blankets, beds, and towels were great, too. A broken pool, cold temperatures everywhere, and lack of breakfast were the downside. We may give this property another chance to help a small business owner, but a lot would need to be different the next time.
