Family thanksgiving

Spacious, quiet, well-equipped home on a large lot right on the river. Enjoyed family time both inside and outside. Easy walk, run or car ride into town.

It was amazing!! My family loved the beautiful home and the spacious design, outdoor scenery, landscape, and wild life. The home was very clean in all areas of the house. We felt at home away from home. It was a very cozy experience. The area had some great selections of restaurants and nearby grocery store. We had a blast and wouldn't mind renting this home again in the future.

Great location!

Great Location! The river access and deck is beautiful. The house was perfect for a guys fishing trip to the area. Beds, sheets, and pillows were a little old but fine for us. Kitchen was nice and had everything we needed. Owner was great and very responsive. I wouldn’t stay here with my wife and kids but it was a good value overall.

This was an awesome summer destination. The house was great! All the kitchen items you need are there, plenty of towels, and plenty of space. It is situated in a great spot as town is a short drive away and all the trails and rivers are super close as well. This is an awesome place of you are doing off-roading as you can get to many spots very quickly. The outdoor dog run was great for leaving the dogs there for the day.

The views were great and that river access was beautiful as well. Would definitely recommend as a great place to be to head to Monarch, fly fish, or enjoying Main Street in BV.

Our host and property manager were friendly, welcoming and responsive. The home was clean and comfortable for our group of 8. There was plenty of room, a great set up in the kitchen, and good space - both indoor and out - for gatherings and dog walks. I hope to stay here again.

Great place

The house was a great place to enjoy family. Beds were comfortable, bedding clean, and a lot of towels. The kitchen was well stocked. They might give thought to adding a n electric griddle for pancakes or French toast.Great lay out. We also enjoyed the back yard. Wonderful stay!!!

Backyard is amazing!

This house was perfect for our family weekend getaway. The kitchen was stock with plenty of utensils, pots and pans. There were plenty of towels and pillows and blankets for everyone. Our favorite part of our stay was the location of the house. The backyard was perfect. It was huge with plenty of privacy and the Arkansas River is right there. We loved the fire pit, the owner provided plenty of firewood for our use! Just be careful if you do have little ones because the balcony to the river is extended and the “fence” is not toddler or kid proof. The house was also very close to downtown Buena Vista but far enough to enjoy nature. The owner and property manager were both very nice and accommodating. The owner Dave called use about a few days before our trip to ask if we had any questions and also gave us his home number. Overall we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. We are only giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 because of the balcony off the river not being toddler proof.

Nice house minus a few things

The house has good space if you are taking a family trip and want to hang out and cook at home together. The backyard was nice with a fire pit and lounge chairs. It backs up to the Arkansas River which has a very steep access point. There were a few problems that were not brought to our attention prior to the visit. First, NO AIR! Trying to sleep at night was not fun and we were not provided with enough fans for everyone to use. Second, the house is located directly across the street from the Buena Vista Correctional Complex. We were unable to keep the shade open to get air during the night because the prison lights were shining through. Overall the house was fine as long as you are aware of the things listed above.

River Retreat :)

Loved the house and property... perfect if you are into fly fishing or just being by the river. There is a steep set of stairs down to the bank but super easy for all of us but our old-man dog and toddler to navigate. There are easy spots to take a dip in the river or just sit a chair on the bank. Amazing outdoor patio as well... we did a lot of coffee and reading on the porch overlooking the river and used the fire pit to roast hotdogs and make smores one night. Very close to main street w the cute shops and restaurants and also the River Bridge Park in town that has some good hikes. The lack of AC was not a big deal at all and the house felt cool between the house fan and open windows. Great kitchen and dining area as well that was perfect for our family dinner and eating breakfast together. We would stay here again!

This was a wonderful home for gathering my sons and families together for a niece's wedding. There are ideal spaces for time together and time apart, with room for other extended family members to stop by, visit and enjoy the river. The home is well-supplied for cooking and other needs. We especially appreciated plenty of movable, comfortable outdoor chairs that allowed us to follow the shade. The views are spectacular, and it was enjoyable to see the ways the home captures them. There are few windows in the master BR for ventilation, which is a real downside on the hotter days, but leaving the bedroom door propped open seemed to work well enough. We'll return again when we have a big crew.

Perfect for two small families!

This beautiful house was perfect for our little family and our friends- 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs. The backyard is AMAZING, the pictures don’t do it justice! We spent a little time in town (running distance) but mostly enjoyed being in the home. The kitchen is well stocked even though we brought everything we needed and is perfect for big family meals and relaxing glasses of wine with friends. We also got to use the fire pit grill grate in the backyard for steaks! We had an internet outage and was able to reach the property manager and owner within about 5 minutes! (Issue turned out to be a cut Ethernet line in town- nothing to do with this property, but the response time was amazing!) Being there in mid-August was our only slight inconvenience because it’s been such a hot year in Colorado it was tough to get it cool inside the house. The instructions were clear and easy enough though, it’s just that the record highs were not cooperating! Wasn’t hot enough to stop us from thoroughly enjoying our trip. Would love to stay here again if we venture out to BV in the winter!!

Loved the backyard.....

We enjoyed our stay in this great home. Climbing one of the areas 14ers (Mt. Harvard) with our 2 boys was what brought us to the area but there are so many other things to do if you love the outdoors. This home is situated directly on the river which is a beautiful, cold, & fast flowing river. Our teenagers fished in it everyday. We loved drinking our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. Downtown and a fantastic trail along the river is within walking distance from the home. The house was very well stocked with lots of extras....spices, coffee, condiments, etc. You can tell this home is not only a rental but also used by the owners....it has that homey coziness. The owner called me personally before our trip to make sure we did not have any questions which was very kind. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the feeder on the porch (which we refilled several times) as sometimes there were 6 at the feeder at once. I have never seen so many hummingbirds! We loved this home and location and would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting the area.
