Walk to Trails & Butte Creek: Cozy Retreat w/ Deck
6/10 Okay
"This is a hard review to write as I generally say really positive things and have such a good experience with Expedia. We booked this cabin when visiting Lassen National Park. On the plus side:
Great WiFi and TV
Communication
We could walk to the Bambi Inn for dinner the first night
Kitchen was well stocked
On the not so plus side:
The bathroom was dirty
The bathroom needed a total refresh - the paint was in terrible shape as well as broken baseboards and moulding
The immediate area around the cabin felt 'deserted' (at least on the nights we were there)
And DONT park under the pine tree in front of the cabin or you will spend 2 plus hours cleaning the pitch off your car in Susanville."
"Beautiful family cabin with a view of Lake Almanor. We enjoyed watching the colorful sunsets over the lake while sitting on the deck. Spacious, clean and well appointed with all the kitchen items you'd need. The cabin is in a quiet area, not far from Chester and easy access to the lake. We loved our comfortable stay and would happily return in the future. Thank you for a delightful base for our adventures!"
"This is an amazing ranch property owned by a multigenerational family who stayed to fight the recent wildfire and saved the area around the ranch. This is as close as you can get to the Yellowstone (series) experience in Northern California. This vrbo is a basement studio under a ranch family member's residence, so expect some noise from above. He is very friendly and has a chill dog. The bed is one of the best we've slept in! The hot spring (basic metal tub setup with a deck and chairs) is on the ranch property nearby. You can only find it using the instructions inside the room as it's located on the ranch area across the main road and behind 2 cattle fences and across a tiny wood bridge. 4 wheel drive vehicle is advised but we made it without bottoming out in our Tesla Model 3 to both the dock location (free kayaking) and the hot spring during the dry summer, but would not try it if mud is possible. You will likely be alone at either location unless another guest or family member shows up.A 120v outlet is near the parking area so we were able to trickle charge the EV and made it back to the Sacramento area with no problem and also drove to Lassen Volcanic Park Bumpass Hell trailhead whole there. Fully charge in Truckee on the way here for best range."
