"Parking was easy and check-in was a simple process. Location is very good, close to town and being on the river it provided a beautiful location to dine outside. The walk along the river is quiet relaxing. The room was large with a good fan which was a nice suprise. Food was good and having Inchs on draft was a pleasent surprise. I didn't use the leisure facilities. This was a business trip but I would stay for a holiday."

"This is an old style country house hotel. As such it will probably not be to everyone's personal taste (e.g.perhaps decor a bit dark) but we thought this hotel was excellent. Service, breakfast both super. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and, importantly, has (free) car parking facilities. Would have no hesitation in staying here again."

"A nice hotel with friendly dining room staff. The room/bathroom were a little bit tired but the bed and pillows were comfortable. The grout and tiles need a refresh. Steam from a short, hot shower triggered the fire alarm and we were met with a fierce member of reception telling us, ‘you have triggered my fire alarm’…by using the shower! Food was much better than expected at dinner. Breakfast was ok with plenty of choice. £10 per night to park. Well located. We didn’t use the spa but hot tub, sauna etc looked ok too. We would defo use again if we got a good deal."

"Excellent central location. The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa. The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this. Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring. Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance. The plumbing made a loud vibrating noise for 10 minutes after each toilet flush. The shower had excellent pressure and hot water. The room mini fridge had the internal light hanging down and the fridge didn’t appear to work. The hotel has old world charm and despite the small foibles mentioned above is a good accommodation option."
