This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom vacation rental is a comfortable, casual home away from home. The back of the house is lined with large windows that display a view of the Southern Oregon Coast. Private stairs from the backyard lead down to a sandy beach near the mouth of the Winchuck River (please be aware we do not maintain the shoreline- there could be driftwood or sea matter on the sand that you may have to walk around or step over). Watch boats, whales, sea lions, and the changing flow of the mouth of the Winchuck River. In winter watch amazing storm waves and the driftwood that piles up and disappears with each storm.

This home provides all of the basic necessities for your stay. Including linens, a user-friendly kitchen, Roku access, and WiFi. Enjoy the spacious deck with a good book or curl up on the couch to watch the ocean. The sound of waves crashing against the shore in the background will bring you the peace that is often missing from everyday life.

This rental is an older beach front home, priced fairly for the amount of guest and amenities available. It is a very family and pet-friendly rental- dogs are welcome with prior office approval. Contact the office if you are wanting to add a dog, There is a $50 pet fee (per pet). Pets are not allowed on the furniture and must be cleaned up after at all times inside and outside.

NO BOATS OR TRAILERS!! Max of 3 vehicles allowed. You will be contacted if additional vehicles are noted.

The private staircase to the beach was rebuilt in April 2023.

The home has a large deck which overlooks the ocean and has an amazing view. The beach was easy to access once you climbed over the driftwood. I was very disappointed to find this older home in a state of disrepair and it was disgustingly dirty. The property management staff were wonderful to work with and very kind and I really appreciated their help but the dirtiness of the home definitely impacted my comfort level during my stay and I will certainly not be staying there again.

Winter refuge

Location right on the coast with an ocean view and easy access down to the beach — even in the midst of a winter storm — we found weather windows and relaxation easy to come by. Great jump off point for many adventures. We’ll be staying again!

We had a great time. The house was clean, the view was excellent, the neighborhood was quiet.A few suggestions: fix the fireplace. The weather was cloudy and rainy and a working fireplace would have been very welcome. Also a few homey touches would go a long way.

Absolutely beautiful!

The view can’t be beat! The house was large and had plenty of room for our family to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to make meals for our large family. The beach was easy to access other then the logs you have to climb over to get to the sand… that can’t be helped :)

Peaceful ocean retreat

Great location

This location cannot be beat. Amazing for access to the beach and close enough to town. Would stay again simply for the location. The home is very outdated (listing photos are accurate) and the trail to the beach is quite overgrown. Does require climbing over lots of driftwood to get to the beach, so just fyi for folks who might not have the physical capability to do so.

Beach and river

The beach was beautiful and nice to take afternoon walks on. We saw an otter in the river and a sea lion in the ocean. The bed in the master bedroom is way too soft for our liking but overall we had a great time here.

Right on the Beach

The house matched its online description. It sits directly above the beach and provides great views. All four of us are over 70 years old and were able to use private path to access the beach. The pile of driftwood does require some maneuvering to get through it. It was cold and rainy while there, so we wished the fireplace worked, otherwise everything was consistent with listing. Great value and direct beach access make this house a great choice.

Family getaway

The location is beautiful. The towels and pots and pans need updating. The water heater was out when we got there but they got it fixed the next day. Overall we loved the place and had a great thanksgiving

We have stayed at this location three times in the last 3 years. Love the location! The home could use some updating such as vent fan in the kitchen has mold front door is rusted, front window has a broken seal, the burner does not work on the stove.

Great ocean views and great beach access

The house sits on a bluff that has a nice view of the ocean. Best of all were the brand new steps down to the beach. Even though there are neighbors, the house felt private and was quiet. The heating system worked great, which was important to us because we were their during a rainy cold period.Nearby Brookings is a great town with all needed services...including a movie theater and a Fred Meyer store.

Ocean get away

The house was great we had a great time. It was nice to just step out of the house and walk 2 minutes to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked all you need are groceries. Only complaints were the throw rugs smelled of chemicals and the bedrooms need dresser or table no where to set anything except floor. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are In Brookings.
