Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Briksdalsbre?
The best time to visit Briksdalsbre is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is mildest and the glacier is most accessible.

During this period, the days are long, offering plenty of daylight for exploring. The walking paths to the glacier arm are typically clear of snow, and the boat trips on the glacial lake are fully operational. This is ideal for those who want to experience the full grandeur of the glacier up close without the challenges of winter conditions.

Couples looking for a scenic and active holiday will find these months perfect. You can enjoy guided hikes, kayaking on the nearby fjords, and the convenience of all local facilities, including restaurants and visitor centres, being open. This ensures a comfortable and enriching experience, allowing you to focus on the stunning natural beauty.

For those who prefer a quieter experience with fewer crowds, late May or early September can also be good options.
