Comfortable and clean away from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas. Beautiful view. Washer and dryer were a great amenity to catch up from a weeks worth of travel. Farm fresh eggs, and tasty pumpkin bread for breakfast.
Our stay was fantastic! The cabin is part of a small farm. We had a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains from the cabin. The cabin (second floor of a larger barn) was larger than expected and with a great kitchen. The wifi connection worked great, but the mobile phone reception was not, which was fine for us. The host was very welcoming and the stay included eggs from the farm from the hens that walked around the yard. There is a farm stand at the first floor of the cabin were the host sold delicious farm-made products such as eggs, sourdough bread, and jellies. Our kids had a great time playing at the farm, and feeding and looking at the animals. The cabin is just a few minutes drive from the town of Island pond, VT that has good services. We would love to come here again!
We enjoyed our stay in Leah’s cabin. Very family friendly and we enjoyed the farm animals and walking around on the small farm. Everything was well stocked and clean!
My husband and I stayed four nights at Leah’s place. She and her husband were absolutely wonderful hosts. Very, very nice people. :) Great location if you want something quiet with beautiful view over the mountain. it’s very close to Island Pond and also to Silvio Conte wildlife refuge. If we go back to Vermont, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you so much, Leah. We had a wonderful time!

The rental was the upper of two levels, and was clean and welcoming. Leah was very nice at check-in. She has a flair for decoration, and she left some treats of pumpkin bread and maple candy. I enjoyed my stay very much!
The host was super friendly and responsive. She even made fresh dog treats for our buddy! The only reason this stay was not a 5 was TOTALLY MY FAULT and had nothing to do with the owners or property. Unfortunately I did not research which trails and activities in the area were dog friendly and i did not ask about the entry to the home. Our dog is old and struggled going up and down the outdoor stairs. Knowing he struggles at times i should have been more proactive in my research and questions. The property is adorable with a lovely little store of all local handmade products and the chickens and goats were awesome! I would recommend to anyone who loves animals and quiet settings with beautiful views and no mobility issues!
We spent a wonderful fall weekend. It was the middle of a three week, four state trip, and so it was perfect for what we wanted. A place to kick back, chill, do laundry, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We loved staying at Leah’s cabin. The
location is great and very scenic. The cabin is very cozy and has a wonderful view. We really enjoyed the goats and the chickens. Those were the biggest chickens I have ever seen, I think. We also got to taste the eggs. Thank you, Leah!
This was a lovely apartment with a view of the hills and forest in the distance. The chickens and goats were good company in the yard! Leah and her husband are wonderful hosts. The apartment is well furnished, clean, with all conveniences you need. Close to the village at Island Pond but feels remote and quiet. I would definitely recommend Mountain View Farm to anyone traveling to the area.
How can you not love a place where you are greeted by free-range chickens coming up to your car when you pull in and park? And the goats in their pens call out a hello as well? The host left a half-dozen of those delicious farm-fresh eggs for us, plus homemade ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. The only reason to mark this property down one notch for location is that it was out of cell range for our phones that were on AT&T and Verizon (so be forewarned if that's important to you - just unplug for a bit and relax!) but there is wifi in the unit. And it's on the second floor, up outdoor stairs, so again, if that's an issue (it wasn't for us) the traveler should consider this. The setting is lovely, the hosts are friendly, the animals entertaining, the beds are comfy, the kitchen has what you need to do some cooking, the view is outstanding. And it's a short drive into the village of Island Pond.
Leah’s cottage was perfect for our (unfortunately) short stay. If you’re looking for a quiet escape in the beautiful Vermont mountains-this is the place. Near the small town of Island Pond/Brighton and Lake Willoughby (North Beach). The adorable baby goats and inquisitive chickens were a plus. Looking forward to another visit soon, I hope!
