  • Bornu Apartment is a small cute holiday rental apartment located in the village Paddock Road, Bridgetown St. Michael. Offering the most amazing location, this small rental is a mere 15 minutes walk away from Pebbles beach where you can snorkel with sea turtles and stingrays over a sunken shipwrecks, kayak, paddle board, jet ski, scuba dive and swim with horses at 6:30am daily while they are bathed. Located in a prime, historical location, The Barbados Museum and the Historical Garrison Savannah horse racing track is less than a 5 minutes walk from your doorstep. Rockley golf course is only 6-minutes drive away and the famous Harrison's Cave a 20-minutes drive away.

Communication via the Vrbo app was initially challenging for the host so I had to switch to WhatsApp. That was fine. My flight was severely delayed, taxiing on runway without wifi, and was unable to meet host at the original time. Nevertheless the key was in a lockbox so still able to gain entry to the premise in absence of the host. That’s fine from my side. The major thing that I will not tolerate nor excuse is a rodent problem. Rats eating through sealed food on the kitchen countertops. Ended up having to put everything in the fridge, including food items that don’t require refrigeration. Hearing rats running through the house walls and ceiling was beyond skeevy and disgusting. Seeing rats in the yard is further alarming! Literally living ‘on guard’ for almost 2 weeks. Yes, this was escalated to the property owners and they went into defense mode as if I were leaving trash in house and keeping the kitchen space dirty. That was definitely not the case, especially since I was wiping up rat droppings from the countertops daily. Cleanliness was never the problem. The property owners attempted to rectify the issue by bringing in an exterminator but alas the expert didn’t see signs of rats, albeit I had all the evidence presented- food wrappers ripped open and video of rats running alongside the house. Rats enter homes for many reasons and if they already feel comfortable there and accustomed to people, they are not leaving! It is unconscionable!
