The home is located in a gated community about an hour south of Asheville, NC, and 20 minutes from Brevard. Our small private community with full time residents and families. Please be respectful of the noise and light levels on the deck at night so that it’s not traveling across the lake. We expect guests to treat the home and neighborhood like it is their own.

***More detailed information below***

Located southwest of Brevard along Rosman Highway (U.S. 64), this Transylvania County town sits atop several major natural and manmade intersections. Its location has made the town the perfect spot for scientific research, outdoor recreation, and building a tight-knit community.

When you list the top things to do in Rosman, NC, you have to mention at least a handful of outdoor activities. Rosman sits on the eastern boundary of Pisgah National Forest’s 88,000 protected acres. So the area offers easy access to some of the best hiking, fishing, mountaintop views, and waterfalls in the region. The forest is also home to the Cradle of Forestry, a 6,500-acre heritage site and interpretive center that represents the birth of the conservation movement in the United States.

Among the highlights of the surrounding area are Sassafras Mountain and Courthouse Falls. Located just along the South Carolina line, Sassafras Mountain has a 3,353-foot observation deck. In addition to serving as the highest point in SC, the deck also affords visitors an awe-inspiring view of both adjoining states, as well as Georgia in the distance. In the other direction from town, Courthouse Falls offer a more down-to-earth view. The 45-foot waterfall is located just a short hike from pull-off parking (0.7 miles round trip). And the deep pool into which it plunges is perfect for a dip on a hot day.

Located right in the heart of it all, Rosman offers the best of both worlds. In just 20 minutes, you can reach Brevard, and in less than an hour, you can explore the vibrant city of Asheville, or enjoy the charming towns of The Highlands and Ski Resorts. In addition, a short drive will take you to the serene Lake Jocasse and Lake Toxaway. With endless opportunities for fishing, hiking, camping, and more, Rosman is truly a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Less than a quarter mile outside town limits is arguably one of the most significant confluences in the Southeast. It’s at this spot that North Fork French Broad River meets West Fork French Broad River to become the ancient and mighty French Broad. At 218 miles in length, the French Broad River bisects Rosman and flows north through much of Western North Carolina before discharging into the Tennessee River.

The French Broad flows through a number of wilderness areas, each with its own unique microclimate and wildlife. More than 10 species of rare fish and three rare mussels are found in the river, and it’s the only river basin that’s home to the distinctive Eastern spiny softshell turtle. Ecologists and outdoors enthusiasts alike enjoy studying the local wildlife in and along the river. If you’d like to see where it all begins, you have to start in Rosman at Headwaters Outfitters. Their family-friendly outings are designed to get everyone out in the water, or you can hang back at their taproom and just enjoy the view.

Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is located a few miles northwest of town limits. Though established as a nonprofit organization in 1998, PARI’s site traces its history back to 1962 when it was an East Coast NASA satellite tracking facility. The site was built as part of the worldwide Spacecraft Tracking and Data Acquisition Network. And it served as an integral communications link for the Gemini and Apollo manned space programs, supporting each of the moon landings.

Today, PARI is a protected astronomical site with more than 30 buildings, four radio telescopes of various sizes, a high frequency Jupiter-Io/Solar antenna, 12 optical telescopes, five weather and atmospheric monitoring stations, and various environmental monitoring instruments. Visitors come to PARI for hands-on educational and research opportunities across a broad swath of STEM disciplines. But researchers continue to come to the site for much more! PARI’s research is utilized by universities in a multi-state area, and the location is home to the Astronomical Photographic Data Archive (APDA).

You will have access to the entire house.
Tesla charger installed. A vehicle is needed to get around. The roads in the community are gravel and have inclines and declines as we are in the mountains. While accessible by most vehicles (guests have gone to the house in a convertible Mustang) it is suggested to have front wheel drive, AWD or 4x4 if there is potential for snow. Please be courteous of neighbors and allow oncoming traffic to pass on the neighborhood roads when they narrow.

fun rental
Great property with nice view and lots to do inside when the weather is bad. Kids loved the loft and all of the arcade games. Would have loved to use the outside more with firepit by the lake, but it was very cold that week.

Great house for family fun!!
We had a great stay at this awesome property — the view, the privacy, the wrap-around porch, the game room — made for an awesome family weekend with my college kids and their friends! The house was spacious and offered spaces for everyone to do their own thing, but also tons of spaces for all of us to hang together! We especially loved the extended dining table which enabled us to gather together to eat and play cards/games! The game room was another awesome feature, we just wish the pool table was regulation size. The two big TVs was perfect for watching college football! While we didn’t feel comfortable having a fire because it was too windy, it was nice to have several options for fire pits! Great house! Great location! (Only 3 hours from Charlotte area, only 1 hour from Clemson, so it was a good place for us all to meet up for Fall Break!) I would definitely recommend Treetop!

Perfect house for kids!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Treetop Lakehouse! The house had everything we could have dreamed of to keep 6 boys (ages 8-15) entertained- canoeing/kayaking, fishing, corn hole, ski ball, air hockey, ping pong, and more. They loved sleeping in the same bunk room at “Camp Treetop”! The kitchen was well-stocked and the grill was great, makinh cooking for a group easy. Day trips to Brevard and Sassafras mountain were quick and lots of fun! It was a perfect long weekend getaway!

Simply Incredible
Following our elopement, my husband and I invited a few friends and family to celebrate with us in this gorgeous lakeside home. We couldn’t have asked for more with the incredible (truly) treetop views of the blue ridge and lakeside fire pit. We enjoyed the deck just as much as the cozy interior- made a delicious smoked brisket on the grill and opted for a catered sit down dinner on our last night. All of us slept comfortably. We will definitely be booking again in the future!

Laketop Gem
We brought our two sons and two of their friends, ages 12 and 14, to enjoy the area for a long weekend. We were pleasantly surprised to find the house much bigger than it seemed with a well-stocked kitchen, incredible views, comfortable beds, and lake kayaks and a canoe that kept us at the house more than our exploring. Brevard is just 30 minutes away and Sapphire Valley 30 min west was perfect for snow tubing (stop at Panthertown Cafe for awesome fried chicken). Jessica was responsive and communication was seamless. Will definitely be back!!

Spectacular home!
We absolutely loved the Treetop house. Unbelievable views of the rolling hills coupled with the dipping tree line and peaceful lake below created the most relaxing spot for our long weekend. The house has a great floor plan for hanging together and enjoying time apart as well. The kids loved the upstairs bunk room and games! So many fun surprises - toys in the kids closet, kayaks, canoe, and pedal boat with life jackets, fire pits, beautiful home decor, a Christmas tree!, nature walks, s’mores, and wonderful hospitality from the host. We will never forget our New Year’s Eve at Treetop and hope to return again!

Army-Navy game weekend
The house was perfect for 3-60 something couples. When we arrived we walked out on the deck to admire the view (the house is called Treetops for a reason) and were glad to see a Christmas tree lit up inside. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, including condiments and spices. Due to rainy weather we ate nearly every meal there. The tv room was perfect for watching the game. Go Navy
