Northern Michigan Retreat for all seasons

  • 3 bedroom, 2 bath home located in a quiet setting on 40 wooded acres. Attached 2 stall garage, central air, gas heating, and wheelchair accessible. Located close to many attractions which include: 20 miles from Lake Michigan, 10 miles from Tippy Dam, 14 miles from Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, 22 miles from Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort, 15 miles from Little River Casino, several golf courses within a 30 miles drive, part of the Manistee County Snowmobile Trails System.

    In the summer you can enjoy the quiet setting at home after you have spent a day at the beach, casino or one of the many golf courses in the area.

    In the winter you can enjoy local skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, or curled up with a good book under a blanket.

    With a full sized kitchen, you can choose to cook your own homemade meals instead of eating out.

    Amenities include: Full kitchen with full size appliances stocked with dishes and cookware; bedrooms come with linens and extra blankets available; living room with Dish TV, DVD player, VCR player, movies. In home activities include board games, puzzles, and novels. Hand towels in the bathrooms (you are responsible for your own personal hygiene supplies).

Comfortable Country Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The property was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Stargazing was wonderful from the back deck and we saw red fox in the front yard-very cool!

We had a great stay inside the house. Didn’t enjoy the outside much other than cooking on the grill due to a football sized wasp nest under the deck right where the patio table was. Other than that all the amenities were provided.

This place was ideal

5 of us came up to go salmon fishing in Manistee. A search on VRBO led us to this place, and we’re so glad we found it. It was quiet, and very clean. Perfect for what we needed. Hosts were gracious and the communication was quick and clear. Definitely would stay here again.

Nice location for Arcadia Bluffs

Property was clean and a great location for Arcadia Bluffs and the South Course. Also near Little River Casino and downtown Manistee. The property owner was available for questions but we did not need to contact them because there were no issues with the place. We would stay here again.

We had a great time! Beds were comfortable, plenty of seating in the living room. We made use of the fire pit and the kids enjoyed exploring the property. The only thing I would recommend is some darker shades or curtains for the bedrooms.

We have stayed here several times and find it to be perfect for us. It’s always clean, comfortable,and well supplied with everything you need. Cool Spacious house

Honestly this house is great for kids which provides all types of movies, and has an awesome huge backyard. A room for kids to play in and have fun for hours.

Quiet Place in the Country

This is an older home, but don’t let that fool you it has all the amenities you need! It’s a very quiet neighborhood with a spacious backyard that’s perfect for having coffee and reading a book in the morning. We also live in the country so it felt like a home away from home. Will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in NW Michigan

Relaxing get away

Out stay was one of the best we have had. Over the last 4 years we have picked a propety to stay at for our fall get away. This was the best one so far. Northern Michigan spring in the country

We love staying at Paula's Northern Michigan Retreat! Paula is very responsive no matter how or when we contact her - her support and help is invaluable. The home setting is beautiful, with abundant wildlife and lovely property with trails to walk. The home is clean and well stocked with sheets, blankets, towels, paper towel, TP, kleenex, etc. The beds are comfortable. The addition of WiFi made it easier for our folks who still have to sometimes work. Love the available garage to hide our vehicles from spring snow & ice! We'll be back!

Four day stay

The property was clean but very dated. The price was right and it was very quiet. However when we arrived, we found 5 plug in air fresheners plugged in, that made the house almost unbearable. I unplugged all of them and by the next morning all was well. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Nice location in the middle of wine country.

Functional Place to Stay

We were a bit disappointed at first glance as the place is not ascetically special at all. But we adjusted to lower expectations for what we saw and enjoyed our time. The place was clean. Kitchen was functional but the amneties of the kitchen left something to be desired. All kitchen supplies looked like things gathered from Goodwill. Maybe petty, but having a Kuerig for single coffee drinker would have been a plus and so would a corkscrew for an evening glass of wine. No Wi-fi was a drag leaving only a basic Direct TV package as entertainment option in the evenings.We enjoyed our walks into the back lot with paths to explore. The place was quiet, which we definitely appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as a silence and solitude experience without all the bells and whistles.
