Rural Welsh Diamond
This is an adorable B&B with lovely hosts. Easy to park, check in, and very cosy. Definitely has the cottage farmhouse appeal to it. And breakfast was amazing. What a great find! I didn’t have wifi in my room, but I could get good wifi by sitting on the steps outside the cottages while admiring the view!

Great place and lovely people Breakfast isn’t included as hotel. Com says on my booking as it’s self catering so be prepared Bed could do with replacement as two singles put together is very uncomfortable for a couple But overall lovely

Nice an peaceful ideal if you don’t need TV
A beautiful cottage with old fashioned style.. the owners were so welcoming and kind.. unfortunately there are no tellys in the rooms which I should have checked before hand so this is not no ones fault but my biggest concern was the fly infestation in our bedroom surrounding the curtains.. when I closed them I disrupted them an it filled the room with flies.. the lady (rose I think) was besides her self an was quickly there to help hoover them up an spray the remainder of flies but by this point I asked to move room which again was no trouble at all.. we was located downstairs in a smaller double room but it was absolutely fine but we was told the bathroom next door was not in use because her husband used it to which I was very disappointed at the thought of having to go all the way back upstairs to use the toilet? But within 10 mins rose came an cleaned the bathroom next to us meaning we didn’t have to use the upstairs bathroom which was a godsend as I’d climed pen y fan in the day an my legs were in bits!!! So breakfast was at 8am from our own choice an we had a range of condiments available an we had our breakfast cooked along with fresh coffee.. by this point we was ready to come away but even though we had an issue with the flies an no telly the owners were lovely an kind an couldn’t be more helpful.

Didn’t like having no shower as we where put in the attic and head room was to low for even standing up in and no shower curtain plus felt like we where shoved out the way in the attic as we where only staying the night and other rooms booked.

Great stay in traditional farmhouse
We were only there overnight but would have enjoyed a longer stay. Beautiful old farmhouse, in beautiful gardens with great views and just minutes from amenities of Brecon and wild landscape of Mynydd Eppynt. Rose a very friendly and welcoming proprietor

Amazing journey to get to this place, helpful owners, lovely grounds, very, very peaceful. We had small room in the house which understandably does NOT have a television which was fine for us but might not be to some's taste but did have an eclectic mix of books and a radio. Very large bathroom with loo were our sole use next door much better than ensuite in my opinion. Lots of character, slightly sloping floors, great pictures on the wall. Would definitely go again and recommend. Holiday cottages are different to this and no doubt have tvs.

Rare hidden gem
The perfect place to escape the hustle & bustle. Wi-fi only not even a tv in our room (perfect). I forgot the importance of a normal conversation and what a delight it was. Rose was an absolute diamond and a real trooper. Creaky floorboards and clunky doors simply add to a picturesque old farm house, loved it. The natural stone floors down stairs are to die for. The breakfast was perfect and plenty of it with gorgeous fresh coffee and apple juice. Only 4 miles outside Brecon it's perfect for the adventurous and again the views from our room were stunning. The room and and as a whole was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfy stay. The track leading up to the farm house is a bit potholey but I have to say it seemed to be in perfect keeping with the location and the whole experience, it didn't bother me one little bit. I am absolutely going make this my little hidden gataway for our future trips to the Brecons. Fabulous I can't recommend it enough and will be recommending to others.

Idyllic farm just outside Brecon
We stayed overnight as we wanted to have an early start in the mountains; despite arriving late we were warmly welcomed and shown to our spacious and incredibly comfortable room. The farm itself is a delight with the garden looking splendid in late June and a very friendly dog. Our hills day started with a fantastic breakfast and we were gone, on reflection we would have loved to have stayed longer and to have seen more of the garden or relaxed in the comfortable farmhouse. . Next time we come to Brecon we will certainly try and base ourselves here again.

Peaceful retreat
We stayed for one night in April in the family room. The farm is in a beautiful spot near Brecon so there are lovely views wherever you look although watching the Black Welsh sheep, the chickens and the guinea fowl in the field from the sitting room gave us the most entertainment. We were warmly greeted by Patrick and Rose and given great tips for dinner options and things to do in the area. The room was comfortable and spacious with tea, coffee, kettle provided and lovely crisp bedlinen. Despite the fact that animals were all around we all slept soundly with no early morning farm noise. Breakfast was huge and very tasty with homemade apple juice and rhubarb compôte among the highlights. Very relaxing and peaceful. We have booked to go again.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was gorgeous and our hosts were awesome, super friendly and ready to assist if we needed them. Provided with breakfast and given all the time we want to leave, so lovely, definitely would recommend and will probably stay again!

What a wonderful stay we had in Rose and Patrick's beautiful home. Our stay stuck the right balance between being welcomed into a friendly home and still having our own privacy to come and go as we pleased. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in close proximity to the Beacons, but also anyone who just wants to escape and relax in beautiful surroundings.

Country location with excellent accommodation in a one double bedroom cottage with its own garden magnificent views. Stocked with all equipment friendly owners and selection of fowl who were also very friendly. Builth wells Brecon and excellent walking cycling and places of interrst not too far away Would highly recommend.

Wonderful tranquil place to stay
Rose provided a friendly welcome with wonderful recommendations on where to eat, the farmhouse is warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated with a magnificent garden. We were happy to return back each evening after long busy days and enjoy walking around the garden and relaxing. This is a very tranquil place to stay and I highly recommend it. Also the cooked breakfast was delicious.

It was idyllic- just what one would hope for if you want to experience the countryside in Wales. We thought the landscape was fabulous, and the owners worked hard to make everything just right and to make us feel at home. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

Quaint home from home
We booked for six of us to stay at Alltybrain Farm Cottages, as we were attending wedding renewal celebrations nearby. The owner of the farm was there to greet us, in a warm and welcoming manner. We were shown to our rooms which were all immaculately kept and breakfast the next day was at a time we preferred. Breakfast included a variety of options - fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast and of course a cooked breakfast. If you love traditional and fancy some peace and quiet, this is the place for you. If you prefer privacy, then I recommend you stay at the Hayloft. As this is separate from the main house and comes with it's own lounge and kitchen area. Thank-you for your hospitality.

A Great Escape from London
We arrived at this beutiful cottage and were greated by our fantastic hosts. The Cottage is set on a beauiful farm with sheep chickens, horses and many other animals, our little one who is 2 was in animal heaven. The gardens where beautiful and we had an evening stoll or two. The cottage its self was stunning and very comfortable, we had the hole top floor (family Rooms) The beds where comforatble and it was like staying at a home from home. We had no TV and I must say it was amazing. We had plenty of family time and it was nice not having a TV to distract us. The cottage is set in a beautiful part of Wales with an easy drive into town and into the moutains and surrounding forests and Waterfalls. Rose was our host and she was amazing, it was like staying with family. Nothing was to much trouble and breakfast was so tasty. I would highly recomend this B&B is you want to relax switch off and have some important family time. I can wait to return....

Country escape
Charming country escape, that allows you to be cut off from technology and enjoy being present in the moment with people. Rooms don't contain TVs, but who needs a TV when your bedroom window frames the farming landscape allowing you to be entertained by nature from the comfort of your bed. Truly relaxing and peaceful. The owners are a warm and welcoming couple allowing you to feel like friends rather than guests.

Rose and Patrick were gracious hosts. In the morning they had the TV on for us to watch the news about the elections. The room was quite comfortable and being in a 400 year old farmhouse was quite lovely. Got a little cold overnight because they turn the heating off.

Peaceful and serene surroundings
We stayed for only one night in August 2016 as a stopgap to the north of wales. But enjoyed our stay there tremendously. Mainly due to our hostess Rose, hospitality which added to all Altybrain has to offer in its beautiful, serene and tranquil surroundings.

The farmhouse is several hundred years old, and in a lovely position in stunning countryside. Rose was especially welcoming, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The garden was lovely. We would have liked to stay longer!
