When my daughter and I arrived the front desk told us "your room is not ready so we are going to upgrade you" and get you checked in. I thought "we booked a specific unit on VRBO, how can they even be able to move us to a different unit?", and I started second guessing what we had paid for on VRBO.
When we got to the room it only took a couple steps in the unit before disappointment set in. It indeed was NOT the unit pictured in the VRBO listing with the clean and freshly updated details, and not the same room layout either. The unit was NOT "re-designed and re-modeled" as the VRBO listing stated. In fact, every piece of that unit was likely original construction.
The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were stained and likely molded on the top side. The shower turned into a bath anytime it was in use because it would not drain fast enough on its own. The appliances were ancient and the coffee maker that was originally white had turned into a dingy yellow because it was so ancient. Lastly, the heat was not controlled by the in-unit thermostat but by the overall building, and it ran hot every night, so much so that we had to leave the window in the living room area cracked to keep it cool enough to sleep.
Now, the saving graces for this place are the location, arcade, pool, restaurants and the store. Each of those were fantastic and my 6 y/o had an absolute blast at the arcade every day.
Ultimately, the unit made me want to leave town immediately, which is ironic given that the listing company is named LeaveTown. I would not recommend booking this property, and can honestly state that I've never said that about a VRBO listing before.
