This place was absolutely beautiful, very clean and the hosts were so nice. Unfortunately we only got to stay one of our three nights because the road to the place was very icy and we watched a car drive off the side of the mountain. Other than that it was very nice.
A perfect location between BZN & Livingston this cozy little "shack" well exceeded our expectations for cleanliness & comfort.
The hosts were great & communication was easy.
The pictures don't do justice to the location of the property.
We will definitely be staying here again.
Thank you for making our brief stay so enjoyable!
Perfect place to stay! I would have given more stars if possible! Great hosts! Great cabin! Great scenery! So relaxing! Highly, highly recommend!!!
And my best friend Sage visits!!!! 🐾
Sue, Pete and sage were the BEST hosts you could ever ask for! They were beyond incredible! They were they if we needed any help, the cabin came with its owe security guard, her name was Sage. She made sure we were safe every night, the cost was playing fetch with her.
Sue and Pete thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. Can’t wait to come back!
I cannot say enough nice things about this cabin. I posted a review on Evolve a week ago (the host) that has yet to post publicly, that has more details. Refer to Evolve. In summary; I recommend this cabin for your next stay!!
While the space is small, it is extremely well-appointed. There are plenty of drawers, hooks and cabinets and the hosts thought of everything from utensils to chip clips. What’s better than what is inside, is the beautiful view and the wonderful hot tub for relaxing after a day out in nature. In addition, the hosts are friendly and helpful. They were available but allowed us our privacy. And Sue’s art is a must see for your trip.
We loved our stay in the cozy mountain cabin! It was perfect for the pre-Christmas getaway to celebrate our anniversary and retirement. Sue and Pete are great hosts as well as Sage their beautiful golden retriever. The snowy mountain views were breathtaking! We would definitely love to come back!
We absolutely LOVED our time at the Line Shack. Pete and Sue were so sweet and accommodating. The views were gorgeous and our cabin was adorable. We were a quick drive to Bozeman, but had the perfect mountain seclusion get away. Sage the resident dog made my morning playing catch. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!
Such a great place! Pete, Sue, and Sage were wonderful hosts and provided us with great communication. Only comment (could be bad timing) was that the place didn’t have ac. Of course in the mountains you don’t anticipate the weather to be in the 90’s but it was.
Overall pleased with our stay. Thank you again!

Wonderful Getaway Spot
A very nice, clean, remote little mountain shack. It's a drive up the mountain to get there, but I was able to see TONS of wildlife, wonderful scenic views, and breathe in fresh mountain air that was great for sleeping. I had a lot of privacy when I wanted to, but Sue and Pete were very welcoming and kind people. I am so glad I cancelled my hotel reservations and decided on this place, I can't imagine my trip to Bozeman staying anywhere else. I got so many pictures of animals and views, and learned a lot more about the area by staying there.Pros: *500% more beautiful than a hotel room of similar price (maybe that's just my opinion?)*Kitchen inside*Wildlife*Hot tub (I didn't use it, but I can see the appeal)*PRIVACY*Very cool people nearbyCons:*No AC. I followed the instructions Sue gave me, and opened all the windows at night and closed them and the shades during the day before I went out it got down to 62 inside in the mornings which amazed me. I wasn't cold at all like I would be in 62 degrees in the AC. If that was too cold, I would have just shut more windows. It's super well insulated. When I would get back to the shack around 6 or 7pm it was an average of 70 to 71 degrees inside in late June.*Driving up can be difficult if you don't follow directions. Bring an AWD vehicle. Pull over for outbound traffic if needed, though most of the way up has room for 2 cars*WiFi isn't super powerful. I had enough to watch whatever I wanted on the TV, but not enough to stream AND browse the web on my phone at the same time. Which was PERFECT for me because it was part of the "Getaway" aspect I was going for. It forced me to appreciate being in the shackOverall, I can't recommend this place enough.
We had a wonderful stay! The location worked perfect for our trip. We brought our Jeep and found trails both north and south from the cabin. The cabin had everything we needed, very clean and beautiful views. We seen elk and several deer during our stay. Enjoyed coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the evening on the deck and hot tub! The hosts and their furbaby Sage were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend! 10 stars!
What a little piece of heaven! Quiet and beautiful, the line shack was a perfect place to unplug! Hosts were friendly, cabin was spotless and views spectacular! I can’t say enough about this property! We will definitely be back!

Small, private and wonderful!!
We came across this cabin looking for somewhere to stay during the week, and we were glad that we did. The intimate setting was everything that we needed to start and finish our day. We saw deer and a moose right outside of our window, and Sage was so sweet also! Sue and Pete made sure that the cabin housed everything that we needed. Lastly, it’s up a hill so be cautious on your drive. Enjoy!!
Our hosts were great! They answered all my questions and even recommended some places to us. The kitchen was very well stocked and they had everything in the cabin that you could even think of needing.
We had a great time up in the shack we did get snowed in but it was great. Very clean and comfortable with very thing we needed. Sue and Pete were very friendly and we loved sage she was cheery and greeted us every morning she loves the snow. If you are looking for a relaxed and quiet beautiful place this is a slice of heaven. Thank you so much for the hospitality would love to come back sometime.
Me and my wife spent our honeymoon at this cabin. The hosts are awesome and so is the resident golden retriever, Sage who visits occasionally. We really enjoyed our stay here and will likely be back.

Quiet getaway
Everything was perfect. Quiet, remote, great views, wildlife and very neat and clean. Definitely would stay again
Everything was phenomenal. The views, the wildlife, the quiet, the amenities, the privacy and the proximity to hiking, restaurants and Bozeman/Livingston were exactly what we were hoping for and got. The owners were a pleasure to meet and talk to and were very accommodating. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again.
If I could give this space and trip 100 stars, I would. The “line shack” was spotless, had everything we needed and more, and the hosts were absolutely spectacular. It felt like home away from home. We simply had the best time. We are already talking about coming back for another trip! Can’t wait!

Perfect cozy getaway cabin!
Our stay at the mountain cabin was perfect! Sue and Pete were so very welcoming and had such great things to share about the area and their property. The cabin itself is so cozy and had everything we needed and more. The hot tub and tipi were an awesome bonus, plus exploring the beautiful property! The property is right in the middle of Bozeman and Livingston, so lots of options for day trips to town while also feeling remote and secluded. We hope to be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The surrounding property is beautiful and allows for great Mountain Views. The hosts were great. The location in between Bozeman and Livingston allowed us to explore both Bozeman as well as Yellowstone National Park. The hot tub was great at the end of a long day of hiking. This is a beautiful property that we’d highly recommend visiting.
The location and the views are absolutely spectacular, the cabin equiped with everything that needed and even more , the hot tub outside is so good to relax after hard day, just 20 minutes from the city but gives you feeling of total disconnection of city life , and ofcourse the hosts, they are so warm and welcome , give us feeling of a family
