Milford Sound is a cliche must do for a good reason - it's awesome!! (Although I might like Doubtful sound "better". At least in comparing the actual sounds or fjords as they actually are). The upside to Milford - the drive there is beautiful and in Milford you can also kayak and check out the underwater observatory... Ooo and you get to go under Stirling Falls, which was amazing! This is Bowen falls which is the other permanent waterfall in Milford Sound. The day I was there was so sunny, and it was beautiful, the guides even said they never see it that clear and sunny! However, Milford is supposed to be even more magical in the rain because then hundreds of small waterfalls appear everywhere. The one time rain would've been good! Lol

Milford Sound has to be one of New Zealand's greatest wonders. 4 hours from Queenstown, it's better to stay overnight in Milford Sound than do a day trip like most people, you can even overnight on a boat there in the fiord. The best time to visit is after a big rain when hundreds of temporary waterfalls crash down the cliffs below.

Great location - just a street away from all the main hub by the lake side I have stayed at the Central hotel by the same group in my same trip, I think this one the location is even more central Clean room, love the amenities and the complimentary snacks Great service, the staff have been very helpful However, beware if you are staying at rooms close by the street - the noise from pedestrians passing by talking and the rubbish truck coming by at three in the morning was not nice
