About this property
More than just a cabin...experience Montana adventure!
Stay, relax and explore at Twenty Odd Base Camp in Trout Creek, Montana. With over 90 private acres at the edge of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness, you'll find yourself surrounded by natural beauty and an array of wildlife only Montana can provide. Wapiti Cabin is a cozy yet spacious dwelling nestled amongst fir, pine and aspen trees making it an ideal base camp for your Montana adventure.
Wapiti (another name for Elk) Cabin is one of the two cabins available at Twenty Odd Base Camp. (Check out "Ursa" cabin #1290934) The open layout features a large log dining table and a full kitchen with all the appliances, utensils and basic spices needed to prepare a meal. The living area has plenty of seating including a comfortable couch and recliner as well as a bistro table near the wood burning stove. The large, covered patio is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage while taking in the stunning views. Wapiti cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. The bathroom has a shower (no tub) and towels as well as basic toiletries are provided. A washing machine and dryer are also available for guests to use.
Roll out of bed and hike from your front door up Twenty Odd Peak Trail, accessing some of the "wildest" mountains left in the lower 48. Even just a 30-minute stroll up the trail provides breathtaking views of the Clark Fork Valley. If a little "R&R" is what you're craving, kick back with a book and/or a cold beverage and breathe in nature from your own covered patio. On a clear night, the stargazing is second to none with the absence of natural light from the city.
Just a 5-minute drive down the road you'll find TOBC's lakeshore property. A private dock and gazebo are available exclusively for our guests to enjoy. Bring your own kayaks or rent them in town- Noxon Reservoir is a paddler’s paradise! Don't forget your fishing gear as Noxon Reservoir is known for excellent bass and Pike fishing and holds a number of other species including trout and walleye.
A scenic 4-mile drive down the road is the quaint recreational town of Trout Creek, nestled on the banks of beautiful Noxon reservoir. There are several good restaurants and lounges as well as a grocery store, gift shops, Laundromat and ATM. Hoping to escape the crowds and traffic of the city?... they boast of not having one traffic light in all of Sanders County. Come and immerse yourself in nature and refresh your soul.

We reserved both cabins on the property, and they were perfect for our small family gathering. They are on a beautiful, quiet piece of property that feels secluded yet very accessible. The cabins were clean inside and out; beautifully decorated, both great layouts, comfortable beds, plenty of comfortable seating inside & out, fully equipped kitchens, books, games, etc....Our hosts were friendly and hospitable, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
Always hard to leave this beautiful place! Comfortable cabins, gorgeous setting, access to the riverfront lot with dock is a HUGE bonus for us. Warm, friendly, thoughtful hosts. Perfect getaway for all ages.
Highly recommended this little cabin tucked away in Trout Creek Montana. My family and I stayed here for my brothers wedding and the host was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed including offering a pac and play for the little ones. Very happy with our 5 night stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful cabin and the abundant deer, elk and turkeys. We didn’t have time to play or fish at the gazebo and dock area, but sat out and enjoyed the view.
Cannot say enough good things about our stay. Peace and solitude can't be beaten here.
Loved everything about being here. Eric was incredible!!! He took us on a hike the first morning to show us around and we sat and watched a herd of elk on the mountainside. Haven't ever had peace and solitude like we experienced staying here. Everything about TO BC is top notch! We will stay here again for sure!!!
We are very grateful we found this place, not only for the super quiet gorgeous location, but especially because we got to meet the owner Marcia & Eric! They are very welcoming, nice, fun, helpful and they have plenty of suggestions for activities close by!
The kitchen is well stocked, plenty bath and kitchen towels, comfy bed! The cabin is about 3 hours drive to Glacier National Park where we spent 2 days!
We hiked to the Twenty Odd Peak and we got the finisher T-shirt!!!
Thank you, wishing you an happy life until we’ll meet again down the road!
Owner was responsive to our many questions. The cabin was very clean & comfortable. The setting is very quiet with deer all around the property. Our carrier is AT&T so we had cell & internet.
This is one of those reviews that I almost don't want to write, because I am afraid it may give me competition to rent this spot next year..
This is an amazing spot for those who can handle quiet, those who want their kids to play with sticks and trees and rocks instead of electronic devices, those who enjoy a sunrise or sunset without email, those who know how to talk with each other person to person instead of facetime. It's like an old-time camping trip, but in a spotless, gorgeous rustic (decorated, it's not at all rustic) cabin with does and fawns scampering through the meadows in front of the cabin and peeking out at you from the fern-laden woods.
The cabin itself has two big roomy bedrooms, a single bathroom with shower, a stove/oven/microwave/toaster kitchen with a central island that was all clean and new, double sinks. It has a massive dining table with leather couch and recliner that faces windows that face the mountains behind the cabin. It does have a TV, with a cabinet full of movies and things we never even looked at the week we were there. Outside has a large covered patio over a picnic table that overlooks a large green meadow (that hosted a couple of frisbee games and a bocce tournament) which overlooks the woods, the neighbors mowed field and the mountains that lay the backdrop for the whole area. There is also a generous fire pit on the end of the gravel lot, with supplied wood. We barely touched the pit, as much as we love campfires, because it was 90deg when we got there! (That reminds me, the cabin was well insulated, because it was always cool inside when it was hot outside.)
The hosts were just great, they were living the next gravel driveway down, in apartments off of a new converted barn. The barn was converted into an event venue, very classily done, that had seating areas inside and outside, covered patios, an interior mezzanine, a kitchen, a small bar and a few small group games (like cornhole) available to folks who visited. It would be amazing for a family reunion, or a small to medium-size wedding. We were there in late June, everything was still green and picturesque, it would be amazing.
The owners would occasionally drop by to make sure we had everything we needed (very kindly offered to show us their hiking trails on the land they owned in the hills behind the cabin,) and their dock" on the near by clark fork river/reservoir. The dock was an acre of river frontage that became our favorite place! Just go there.
