Just a short drive from St Louis to Bourbon Missouri and you can get away from it all. Located on 40 acres you can enjoy a peaceful property overlooking open meadows, running creek, wildlife and your own spring fed lake. Blue Springs Ranch is close by where you can swim, canoe, horseback ride and enjoy other activities. In Bourbon you will find a coffee shop, restaurants , health food store, bicycle shop, grocery store, and ice-cream parlor and other small town stores. The chateau has a large covered porch where you can view wildlife, watch geese sit on the porch swing or hang out around the fire pit on a cool evening. Take a hike, feed the fish or just relax. We had a fantastic stay. The chateau was clean, spacious, and well stocked. Our kids especially enjoyed fishing on the pond on the property. Our hosts communicated ahead of time to answer our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. A few days after our trip, our two year old asked when we were going back to the "other house" - answer: soon!

Fantastic Getaway

A beautiful property with gorgeous views. The fishing was great and the lake has a large deck for easy fishing. House was very nicely decorated and outside porches were comfortable. Loved the swing and the fireplace- we had a wonderful relaxing time. Will definitely be back!

Dreamy Set-up!

This property is amazing!! It is not just decorated beautifully, but all the little details have been thought out. You can cook or bake virtually anything you want with everything provided in the kitchen. Then take that to multiple eating areas outside with fans to keep you cool & the bugs away. Afterwards relax on the supersized swing with a view that belongs on a desktop background. This place was so wonderful we referred a friend before we had left.

Beautiful weekend getaway

The house and property were incredible. We were in for a float trip and it was the perfect little place to retire to afterward. Cozy, accommodating, and great communication with host.

Great time

Fantastic place! They have a very unique and cozy house with a great outdoor entertaining area. The hosts went the extra mile and provided nice coffee, snacks, and even welcome pastries from a local bakery.

The Hidden Gem

This was the third consecutive year our group of friends stayed at the property for our annual trip. This place is aptly named The Hidden Gem! We enjoy this location so much every year. Very quiet area with tremendous amenities. The owners are terrific and very responsive. Another great stay!

Awesome place!

The whole property was wonderful and immaculatly cared for! Beds were very comfy and clean and the kitchen was great for cooking. We loved the large open field and pond and outdoor space. If we could add one thing, it would be to have a circular outdoor fire pit somewhere as the beautiful outdoor stone fireplace was slightly difficult to huddle around in the colder weather. Overall everyone loved the place and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic Rental

We stayed at the Chateau for a fall weekend. It was beautiful inside and out. Too many amenities to mention. Communication with Christie was great. Beds were comfy. Attention to detail makes this home a wonderful place to visit.

Lovely house

The property is perfect! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again. The muffins upon arrival were the best Ive ever tasted and very appreciated. My favorite part of our stay was sitting and reading on the lovely rod iron porch swing while watching and listening to the rain.

Charming and beautiful getaway

This property was the perfect place for my bridesmaids, family, and I to get ready for my wedding! The house is spacious and the windows overlooking the property were so relaxing and charming! Hideaway Haven!

Wonderful property to get away & relax. The pictures don’t do it justice. Boundless amenities-very clean-and decorated like it should be in a magazine! The Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I stayed here in October. The property is gorgeous!! We fell in love with the natural beauty of the land and pond. The house looks even better than the photos. The Chateau is exactly what you see in the pictures & more. This is the 2nd time I've rung in the new year here. Daily hikes in the woods, walks around the pond and visits to various antique stores are my happy places! Would do this every year if I could

Amazing Location and Beautiful House

We absolutely loved staying here!! The location was so amazing. We could sit on the porch for hours taking in the view. We loved swinging on the porch swing, playing games, having a fire while taking in the scenery. The house was decorated beautifully and fully equipped with all the little things that make it so convenient. This was the best rental house we have stayed at. So clean and cozy. We can’t wait to come back!!.

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed our stay catching up with our friends that now live several states away. The house was clean, welcoming and comfortable which was perfect for us to relax and talk with our friends. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend staying at this house if you are looking for a quiet, secluded place that is still close to stores, restaurants and other things to do. The outdoor amenities were an excellent option for socializing and taking in the view and wildlife. Very happy with our stay and are heading home refreshed.

Truly a hidden gem!

We love every minute of our stays here. It’s beautiful to look at inside and out, and is such a relaxing environment. This trip I traveled alone with 3 kids and most importantly felt safe, but I also appreciate that the hosts allow you to feel like you’re on vacation. Some vacation rentals are sparsely stocked, have complicated check-in processes, are hard to contact, or have a long list of check out processes, but not here. I was able to relax, unwind and have a stress free experience from start to finish.
