The lobby is beautiful, staff was helpful and friendly. Elevators are small. property is quiet which we loved, we were there for a show at the balboa theater and were able to walk. gaslamp is also within walking distance. cleanliness could be better. We had some dirty towels. you ciuld tell counters/ lamp tables had not been cleaned in a while.One of the TVs in our room didn't work

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday. Online, this hotel makes it seem like they're a resort like, luxury, and have a huge heated pool. In all honesty, it's not something we would consider to be luxurious, but it's good enough. The best thing about this place is the staff and the bar on the rooftop. The bartenders were great and made amazing drinks and the staff outside of that were all friendly and welcoming. On the other hand, the pool isn't huge as advertised nor is it super warm which was disappointing. Our AC wasn't powerful enough and our room got extremely hot, so nights weren't great. The walls are very thin to where you can hear a lot in the hallways and other rooms. We wouldn't stay here again, but we're happy we tried it out.

The only real complaint was the music played at the pool. It drowned out the sound of ocean and was quite irritating.
