Wonderful home & kitchen for lots of friends.

“The Last Resort” is a fantastic home for a large group. All rooms are spacious and comfortable. The view from the back deck is lovely. The kitchen is amazing, easily accommodating two or more cooks at once, and there is a large bar area downstairs with a second full sized fridge. Our group of adults attending the MerleFest had a lovely stay and wished for more days just to enjoy the cabin.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and has been amazing both times! We will be back sometime next year. We ride motocross bikes and head to Brushy Mountain, very convenient and close. Quiet and the view is amazing.

An amazing weekend

This was one of the nicest houses I’ve stayed in and the view matched the house. There was something for everyone to do and we were very comfortable. I would recommend staying here if you are ever in the area.

We absolutely LOVED this cabin! From the charming double fireplaces to the spacious double living rooms, there was more than enough room for everyone, and it truly turned our stay into a BLAST! The cabin was impeccably clean, and knowing the owners were just a text, call, or VRBO message away brought an incredible sense of safety and security. Check-in was seamless, with codes that worked perfectly—I can't praise it enough! It was beautifully decorated and felt just like HOME, a rare gem that so many VRBOs fail to achieve.

This property is terrific!

We booked this property last year for a family reunion and we loved staying there so much, we immediately booked it again for this year’s reunion. It is immaculate, amenities such as paper towels, dishwasher tabs, tp, trash bags, and propane for the gas grill and fire pit are included, as are linens and a great supply of towels and washcloths. The views are spectacular! The owners are a joy to work with. We would highly recommend the property!

The most impressive house in the mountains

We all enjoyed the house. The kitchen was perfect to share some moments with friends while cooking a good dinner. Kids have space to play in the main living room and downstairs as well.

We had the most amazing stay at this house when we came down for our daughters wedding. The host were easy to talk to and met our every need. Our only problem is that we didnt get to stay longer. Very gorgeous house and views.

We were extremely pleased with the house. Kitchen was fully stocked with all items necessary for family meals. We found the hosts to be very prompt in responding to any of our needs or questions. We would highly recommend The Last Resort for a family vacation. We are already making plans for another stay.

Fabulous location to celebrate a milestone birthday

The views on this property are spectacular!! Our group of 8 loved every minute of the sunrise and sunset out on the deck, above the tree line. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. This was log cabin living! We would definitely reserve it in the future.

Clean and comfy!!

The home was very cozy and the beds were comfortable. The kids had lots of fun with the hidden surprises. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. The view of the mountains were beautiful. I do wish there was more outdoor room for the kids to have played without worrying about them falling down a hill. We would recommend this home, especially for large family gatherings.

Fantastic Family Football Holiday Weekend!

Thanksgiving 2023

The property was exactly as described. Very spacious bedrooms, comfortable mattresses, kitchen was equipped with every imaginable cooking device, gadget, etc. My four adult children and their crew, my parents, my husband, and I were very pleased. We were able to relax together without feeling over crowded. The mountain view was spectacular! Highly recommend if you’re looking to relax away from city hustle.

Family Reunion Long Weekend

Our family gets together each year and we found this listing on VRBO. The owners are lovely and very responsive to our emails about the property. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was the view- spectacular!! The cabin was clean, paper products (TP & paper towels) were stocked. The double oven was great as we were cooking for 11 adults. The kitchen was well appointed with anything we required- from cooking pans & utensils, plates, flatware, and PLENTY of glasses. We’ve already rebooked for next year’s gathering. Highly recommend!
