Hotel was close when we arrive a 11 pm. Be aware.
We had book arond 8 pm. When we arrive there the hotel was close. We rang at the door several time, but it seems to be close for the season...It is very far away for city, and from the road. It s not a city hotel. it is in country side. Cost us a lot of money for the taxy to go and come back. We complain the next day at hotel.com, but so far we did not get any answer if we will get refund or not. We got fast answer to our phone call al hotel.com. They where not able to reach the hotel. The advertisement clain it s close to airport, but in fact it is quite far. The hotel look very old from outside. Be carefull and call before to reserve. So far we did not get refund.

The hotel was very comfortable, breakfast was fantastic with lovely friendly staff. Had meals in both the Bistro and in the Hotel restaurant and they were all very good. The hotel is in a great location for both Cologne and Bonn and the surrounding towns were all very lovely.

Lovely hotel with lots of characters
The hotel is converted from an old building, full of antiques and old stuff. The room is nice and comfortable. Food in the restaurant is nice and service is fantastic. It would be an ideal place to stay for leisure. But it's in the middle of nowhere and we struggle to find alternative places to eat in the evening.

Olde Worlde hotel in a quiet location
Schloss Auel is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city (of Cologne) but is worth visiting for good food and a comfortable night's sleep. The Schloss retains a lot of history and charm inside with many wooden beams,old wooden doors and floors. Everything is clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The only negative was the lack of a desk in the bedroom for business use. Everything else was great. The evening meal is served in a dining room with great character and the menu offers a good variety. The quality of the food is excellent. Highly recommended.

Do you want to sleep where Napolean slept ?
What a wonderful hotel! My family and I visited this small German hotel on the way back home from the French alps. It was a last minute decision, so we weren't sure what to expect. It was lovely, beautiful location and a great sunny aspect. We had booked a family room ( suite with beds for the kids) which was perfect for us, kids in a separate room, huge bed, lovely bathroom ( although low doors meant my husband banged his head repeatedly). We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening which was exquisite cuisine but some would struggle with children. We had a most wonderful dinner sat in the sunshine. Breakfast was adequate and perhaps expensive but it was lovely to spend extra minutes in this lovely venue. The staff took the time to show us the bed Napolean had slept in - which was a wonderful addition for our 9 year old. All in all a great stop off point, would highly recommend this hotel, particularly if you fancy a round of golf ! But it is querky for families and if your kids aren't into a fancy dinner, the golf club next door is perhaps more appropriate. Would highly recommend this hotel, although the website is only in German, the staff spoke English.

Ich war das erste Mal im Schloss Auel Hotel und bin begeistert. Das Haus hat Stil und Charme ohne Ende. Hier fühlt man sich wohl von der ersten Minute an. Alle Angestellten mit denen ich Kontakt hatte waren allesamt aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Wellnessbereich (Sauna) war sehr schön. ich komme geren wieder.

Schlossherr auf Zeit
Schloss Auel ist phantastisch gelegen. Ein echtes Schlosshotel mit Themenzimmern und einer guten Mischung aus modernem Komfort und historischen Elementen. Super netter Service, gutes Frühstück. Tolle Lage im Grünen (wenn man die Ruhe mag). Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass das Hotel abseits einer Ortschaft liegt.

Leider hat es im Vorfeld sehr viel Ärger gegeben. Es war ein Zimmer im Schloß gebucht, dann wollte man uns in das Nebengebäude "verfrachten". Dies haben wir jedoch nur per Zufall mitbekommen. Es wurde im Vorfeld nicht mit uns darüber gesprochen. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass die eine Hand nicht weiß was die andere macht

Abendessen war gut, Frühstück mager für den Preis, schönes Ambiente, Essen im Hotelrestaurant musste bar bezahlt werden und liess sich nicht auf Zimmerrechnung setzen - daher musste man für den bezahlvorgang erst noch einmal aufs Zimmer gehen.

Empfehlenswertes Schlosshotel -Ambiente und Stil
Ein kurzer Aufenthalt in einem geschichtsträchtigen Schloss.. Schönes Ambiente und netter Service, wenn man Golf mag- direkt am Haus fliegen die Bälle!Der Frühstücksservice mit humorvollem Personal sehr gut, schön vor dem Schloss zu sitzen in aller Ruhe, ist sehr nett! Sehr freundliches Personal, Hund (Mops) war auch erwünscht und insgesamt empfehlenswertes Schlosshotel.

Halte reposante dans un château authentique
Charmant château à l'ancienne, avec tout ce qui va avec (chapelle intérieure, bibliothèque avec livres anciens, etc...). Très authentique, de l'ancien partout pour ne pas dire uniquement, mais jamais vétuste. Amateur de vieilles bâtisses, n'hésitez pas, surtout si vous n'avez pas peur du plancher qui craque et des escaliers pas droits ! Chambre confortable et bien décorée, j'y ai très bien dormi, c'est très calme ! Seul bémols: la mini-couette qui ne couvre rien pour dormir et les rideaux qui n'occultent pas grand chose.

War nun zum 2ten Mal da. Immer gerne wieder. Das ist wie eine Zeitreise in eine andere Welt. Jetzt wäre es noch schön gewesen, wenn die Kerzen auf dem Frühstückstisch angewesen wären

A notre arrivée, le personnel était débordé par une fête de famille se tenant dans la salle voisine. Le WiFi est gratuit mais je m'attendais à recevoir les informations lors de l'accueil. Il y a un bistrot mais il n'est pas accessible de l'intérieur. Il faut faire le tour des bâtiments et il n'y a une nouvelle fois aucune indication. Bref, la communication n'est pas parfaite.

Skal man til Køln, finnes det hoteller med enklere beliggenhet, men for et deilig sted, når du er fremme. Veldig fin spasertur til togstasjonen.

Absolut empfehlenswert
Ein ausgezeichnetes Hotel, welches gekonnt den flair eines Schlosses mit den Annemlichkeiten eines modernen Hotels kombiniert. Service, Sauberkeit und Ausstattung lassen nichts zu wünschen übrig. Ein umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet rundet das ganze ab.

An old place with history and soul.
First of all, it's an old palace. Really old and alive, you could feel yourself living in a museum. There is nothing around the hotel, so it can be a quiet place. But the airport is very near (you will hear the airplanes) and there's no sound isolation in the room, so you can hear stuff in the morning and people outside. Breakfast is quite good, service is excellent. Dinner is not as good and overpriced. All the equipment in the room is good - bed, bathroom and so on.

För riktig slottskänsla
Väldigt vackert hotell som faktiskt är ett riktig gammal herrgård, där även inredningen är antik. Som konstvetare var det väldigt roligt att bo i denna miljö och att se riktig och fin konst på väggarna. Rummet som vi fick var egentligen en svit, dvs 2 rum, vilket är perfekt när man reser med barn. mannen som är snickare tyckte att det var lite slitet, men jag anser att en lite knarrig dörr exempelvis bara förhöjer myskänslan på ett sådant här ställe.. Badrummet var nytt och lyxigt och utsikten från rummet väldigt fin. Vi fick även väldigt god service när receptionisten hjälpte oss att boka rum i centrala Köln. Det enda som var negativt var frukosten som var minimal.
