"I stayed in the “cosy double” and was pleasantly surprised, the room was bigger than expected, very comfortable and clean. I got to enjoy a nice long bath after an hard couple of days and enjoyed my stay. All this was made even better by the lovely lady on reception who went above and beyond to help me and make sure I was happy, she is a credit to the hotel."
"Love staying here as the staff are so friendly & helpful. The cook a lovely breakfast to order every morning. The bedrooms & bathrooms are well kept & clean. Would highly recommend the charming little hotel."
"Lovely location but you won't get any sleep!
Positives:
The hotel is in a Central location in the town with plentiful parking and an easy walk into the town.
Breakfast is fairly good with good quality food and satisfactory drink options.
Negatives:
The hotel hosts live music and party events in the same wing as the bedrooms, so the bedrooms are above or beside the party room which runs until 12am. The sound of the music could be heard over the TV and in the bathroom with the shower on. We had a booking including our toddler, and at no point on the website, through booking or upon check in were we told this was a late night music venue.
There are a lot of stairs up to the bedrooms, so if you have any mobility issues, this would not be suitable.
The beds are fairly soft, so if you are on the larger side, they are not the most comfortable.
If the noise of the party doesnt keep you awake, the refrigeration/ extractor for the kitchens is also particularly noisy. This means that you cannot have the window open due to the noise and there are no fans or air conditioning, which means that on warm days. Like we had, the room is very hot and there is no way to cool it.
I would not stay here again, and will be looking for somewhere else to stay when we return to the area later in the year."
"Any absolute fantastic 6 night stay! We were greeted by Kate on arrival and Martin later on. The accommodation was lovely and clean and appreciated the little welcome pack (eggs, biscuits & milk. The bonus was the amazing weather we’ve had!
There isn’t a local pub but we sat out on an evening and it was lovely to get away from the phone as internet is not great. 20mins from the coast and Tesco. Would really recommend this property.
Oh and one last thing, no light pollution, so the stars are amazing and view spectacular!"
"Was quite good but there was alot of spider webs in cupboards and was a bit itchy in bed but it was really comfy I cluding the pillows.pretty good sleep.nice that you could have a bath or a shower.we made most of the bath for our short stay as we don't have a bath at home.we did seem to have a stain suddenly appear on our bedding for some reason after housemate had been our room we thought was strange.they made the bed and put the bath Matt's neatly in the bath but they didn't empty bin which we thought was strange but all good.it was only for 2 nights.most staff was pretty friendly and sad to find that they are selling up😞.I wish them luck and hope someone who keep caring with passion to take over cos this place is a sweet gem with a really nice walk nearby.the continental which was included was okay for us but would of liked a bit more of it being continental breakfast as it was more just a basic breakfast but okay.did the job.the actual full breakfast wasn't too bad.on our first morning I did have a cup and a spoon missing from our table soo had to find another one somewhere.nice to have a TV which wasn't a bad size and felt quite happy to be staying in room at times.the blind it kinda work but was quite hard to make come down and the blind I had to use my hands to make it turn to private but we did it soo all was okay.the bathroom door was not fully working as we couldn't properly close it but enough to keep smells away soo all good.bathroom window I found hard to close."
