The history of this hotel is great. New guests need to be brought up to the real of status of the Red Lion Chain. And the staff are excellent. Prices are best I have seen in years. This puts me back into some travel into the new year.
Also the connection to Sonesta seems to be a great partnership. Thanks
Work in progress. Needs updating but balcony was great. Clean. Slept well.

Good and close to downtown
The location was great, it is an older hotel but it was good to stay in. the breakfast was good as well, it was more than a continental breakfast so was good to get going for the day!
Had a wonderful check in, super friendly staff! It’s an old hotel but has been maintained extremely well, very vintage and fun. The beds were comfortable, shower was hot, towels soft. We didn’t get to try the restaurant, bar, or breakfast, but the coffee was fantastic! Will stay again!
We did not use the housekeeping service. We did visit the breakfast, the food was good and hot?

Disliked: Cleanliness
The hotel is run down, black mold around bath tub, no blanket on bed, no chair for desk.
Staff moved me to another room. 2nd room big brownish water stains in toilet, desk chair would not raise up to use with high desk. Tv would not work. Missing panel in hallway ceiling by ice machine. The staff was friendly and nice.

Staff was absolutely stunning. Any issues we had got instantly resolved! Having amazing conversations and relatable times with staff allowed an easy and homely stay for our week at the red lion. Each person was personal and if a situation were to raise it was instantly resolved!
I only live about 45 minutes away so this is always my go to spot to stay at when in Boise for concerts! Rooms are always clean and comfortable and I say that as a former housekeeping supervisor for a hotel chain. Always a good stay here, but my girl Serena at the front desk? GIVE HER A RAISE!!! She remembered my boyfriend and I from a stay back in September. Remembered that I like a fan in the room, and when my airhead self left my hydroflask at the front desk she happily brought it up to my room. Definitely will always recommend this hotel, and if Serena helps you it’ll be an even better stay! Thank you! :)

Good to Very Good
Front desk service was extremely good room was above average. The hotel seems to be under construction as the hallways need refurbished dramatically overall, it was worth the money spent.
1st room, 1st night=85 degrees, no way to adjust it. Room 348
2nd room, 2nd night=no heat at all, and the watermain broke in hotel. All guests had to evacuate at 11pm. Room 470
3rd morning = the shower in my room wouldn't work, so no shower on the way to the airport.
The staff was so very nice, and polite. Wonderful!
Corporate is really letting them down by providing this absolute crap to work with.
As it is, I cut my stay in half because of the conditions. It seems to me that I should be reimubursed for the whole stay.

The chairs in rooms are stained and dirty. The room only had a sheet on the bed, I had to call for comforter. The furniture is broken.
It was quiet and comfortable just needs some new furniture

Thank you
This hotel was just fine. Super friendly front desk. Bed was clean and really comfortable, sink, toilet, shower not so much. However, I'd stay again for the price we paid.
Staff was nice but never at front desk. The hotel was so outdated and falling apart. Okay if you are on a budget but not even worth the price. Pool was closed, carpets were dirty. Footprints & handprints all over mirror & wall. Only saving factor is the location is good.
This was the second time we stayed here during family week at BSU. The first time was okay, nothing fancy. This time, I had a hole in the wall where the thermostat was supposed to be, no dead bolt-only broken pieces on the door frame, the carpet in the hallway was duct taped together and so bumpy it was difficult to walk on, there was no phone or alarm clock, the hot water handle fell off the knob, many burnt out light bulbs, and there was lots of mystery "artwork" on the ceiling. The one plus was that the bed and pillows were comfy.
