Online chat said no-one was around due to illness. But this was a poor excuse for abandoning guests .. particularly as check in was unnecessarily difficult. A good company would have had replacement staff and put notices up saying the office was shut. Not good enough "

"We had such a wonderful time in and around Wangen which is very beautiful. Johanna was an amazing host and made us feel so welcome on arrival and kindly left us a bottle of wine. She even brought along a friend to translate both on the day we arrived and when we left which was very thoughtful and it really helped (thank you to Ivan too!) "The house is well laid out with everything you need. Oehningen has the best ice cream in the world at a farm off Hoeristrasse and a wonderful swimming beach with all facilities for a very modest price. Lots of country walks and ferries up and down the lake."
