Overall a great stay at Palazzo Violetta. A ten minute walk to Sliema waterfront or Baletta Bay, so close to the tourist bars, restaurants and shops but also away from the hustle and bustle when you want a quiet night's sleep. Room was clean, spacious although a little dated - large solid wood desk and wardrobe. A really minor point overall. Breakfast was excellent and varied - although the coffee machine needs replaced as it regularly took 5 attempts to get it to part with an espresso! All the staff were excellent. Every single one courteous, polite and helpful. Would happily stay there again.

Rooms were really clean, views from a high floor room great, great breakfast, the staff took extra care to provide a true 5-star experience and accommodate whatever we asked about. The only downside was noise from a neighbouring construction site but it didn't bother us as we got up early to have a good use of the short daylight time at this season. Oh, and the gym is proper too.

If you do a tour there then make sure you have more than 30mins and also realise it is a long way to go for a swim. Apparently the Blue Grotto is better

If you do a day trip which includes Goza you will have limited time and it is hardly worth the effort.
