Great Stay
The owners of the property are very nice, the barn house is such a relaxing place to stay and they did a great job with it. You are close to downtown Bloomington and only about 30 minutes from Nashville, IN. Would highly recommend.
Our family of five loved our time spent in this picturesque and cozy barn-style house. Host was gracious and respectful. Thank you to them for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable!
The Barn was a fantastic place to stay for our family! The owners are very responsive and helpful. With the antique decor, we felt like we took a trip back in time, yet with all the modern conveniences! It is even better than the pictures portray! We wished we could have stayed longer.
My family and I had such a wonderful time at the Barn. It exceeded our expectations in more ways that one. The personal touches were a nice surprise and the owners were very helpful. We stayed here in December and the barn was decorated with such nice holiday decorations. It is in a great location to Bloomington and Nashville. We made a lot of memories here and hope to return some day.
Our family had such a lovely time staying at the Barn! This property was so cozy and peaceful while being conveniently located to shopping, hiking, and restaurants. The owners couldn’t have been more amazing. They reach out to make sure we had everything we needed! When we arrived they had snacks waiting for our 9 year old daughter. I can not say enough good thing about our time here!
Cute and quaint barn, with added touches made just for us… made our stay even better. Hospitality was perfection! This barn holds so much charm! You can see a lot of thought and love went into making this property feel warm and welcoming. We played games, chatted, and laughed until we cried. Thank you for opening your doors and providing a special place to make wonderful memories.
This house was a perfect fit for our family reunion in Bloomington. It was cute, clean, comfortable and the owners (who live next door) were extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. Everything was as described and made for a wonderful visit. Our only issue was with the property management company handling the listing (Evolve) as they were not responsive (no phone number to call)to me and charged a "damage waiver" fee that they could not explain. The owners were extremely helpful in trying to resolve this.
First impression: I love it! It's adorable! It's decorated so well. It's a good mix of old timey and modern. The pictures on the listing don't do the place justice. Everyone that joined us loved the place
We met our hostess, Linda, not long after our arrival. Such a nice lady, very accommodating and helpful. Just a text message away. Very responsive.
I loved the area. It looks and feels like you're in the country but town is very close by.
Not wheelchair accessible and could be difficult for someone with a lot of trouble walking as the front walkway is gravel and there's uneven ground around the firepit.
I very highly recommend a stay here. I would definitely stay there again.
Our stay at The Barn and Briar Ridge was in the simplest of terms - Perfect. My parents, my son and I traveled to Indiana to see my siblings, aunt and visit where my grandmother was born - we were greeted by Linda (our host) and there was homemade lemon bread and ice cream in the freezer, along with a hand written note. It was the perfect Indiana welcome that always feels like home, even though I have never actually lived there. The history of the barn and video of the renovation was interesting and my father (who was raised in a small farming town in Indiana) fully appreciated the renovation and history of the barn - along with the incorporation of some of the original barn structures included. The entire barn is filled with antiques and beautifully decorated. It is clearly a labor of love and we can't wait to return! Linda and Phil were both available by text and were right next door if we needed anything!

The Perfect Mini Vacation!
Our hosts had restored the beautiful barn on their property. We stepped into the barn and knew we would relax in the gorgeous space with vaulted ceilings, oriental rugs, and collections of antiques. This project was a labor of love and a desire to preserve a part of history! It has been created beautifully. The decor was indeed perfect for the season. The kitchen and bath were very well equipped. The beds so comfy. Attention was paid to the smallest of details for our comfort. Our views were of autumn corn fields and we could walk up the lane and around the fields. I cannot say enough about staying here. Do not hesitate to rent. We hiked in Brown County State Park. We walked all of downtown Bloomington where we enjoyed the wide variety of shops. We spent several hours in the Eskenazi Museum of Art on the IU Campus. What a treat for us to enjoy this area. Best wishes to our hosts!
This was one of the most wonderful stays we've ever had! We left our house later than expected. I let the hosts know, and they sent a sweet message letting us know the lights would be on for us and the best place to park. When we arrived, there was an absolutely gorgeous loaf of lemon cake waiting for us, along with a huge basket of snacks and treats. My teenagers were THRILLED about that! The place was decorated for Easter in the most adorable vintage Beatrix Potter kind of way (it was Easter weekend) and that added to the overall charm of the barn, which was already incredibly charming all on its own. Everything was absolutely immaculate! The kitchen was very well equipped, which we appreciated for dinner one night. The space was ample enough for our teenagers to have their own areas while my husband and I had plenty of space to read and wind down with a movie. The loft was so perfect for my teens, with the bathroom up there just for them. We only stayed two nights, but could have been comfortable there for many! The location felt "out in the country" but was really only about 10 minutes to the heart of the IU campus, which was so convienient, since we were there for a college visit for our son. We were so grateful for the hospitality and comfort and definitely plan on staying in the Barn anytime we're visiting Bloomington. Thank you!
The most perfect unplugged getaway weekend! Phil & Linda were the best hosts and their barn was absolutely beautiful, full of everything and anything we could’ve needed & wanted. We will definitely be back!
This place is awesome! Hosts were very nice and communicated well. Lots of amenities and plenty of room. Very well decorated. Cozy heated floors. We will come back for sure!
The host were amazing! They left us fresh baked cinnamon bread, and it was delicious. The barn was gorgeous! It had an old time Christmas charm, and was very cozy! We felt at home. We loved the original beams that were used from the 120 year old barn! The smell was amazing inside the barn! Highly recommend! Looking forward to returning in the future!
The unique quarters were fun and welcoming! The hosts were also tremendously welcoming, and gave us all the space we wanted. Of all the house shares I’ve had, this ranks amongst the very best. I hope to stay here again in the future!

Wonderful!
Can't say enough good things about our stay...from the wonderful hospitality to the darling barn, everything added up to a wonderful stay!
We were looking for a cozy Christmas cabin experience, an annual tradition for our family. We asked if it the barn was decorated for Christmas before we booked, and boy was it ever! We were there three days and I was still finding new sweet surprises everywhere I looked. It set just the right tone for our family holiday. I worried that a barn might be drafty, but it was so snug and toasty with everything we needed to slow down and relax, including a homemade coffee cake that greeted us. The barn has a really interesting history and has clearly been restored with love and care. Thank you!

Lovely lovely space
beautifully appointed space and well equip! The hosts give you privacy, but also are so welcoming and available.
This is such a neat property and the owners are wonderful. We especially loved the snacks they left for us after a very long 12.5 hour drive to Bloomington. We look forward to another stay soon.
This barn was beautiful and we had an amazing time. the decorations and snacks were so sweet and it felt very homely which i loved !! I would definitely come again and recommend to others :)
Six of us came together for a tradition of unplugged family time. We took in an arts & crafts festival in Bloomington, visited the T.C. Steele historic site, and spent a beautiful day on Lake Monroe. The owners are terrific. Excellent communication and attention to every detail- all was perfection!,
