This has to be our best stay yet in Blackwell. As this is our halfway point when traveling from Texas to Iowa. I will never stay anywhere else!

The property was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our fridge had food from a previous guest in it which was a little gross and the shower had a really poor caulking job that made the shower look dirty. It wasn’t dirty but had the appearance due to the caulking. The AC worked like a charm as the temps were really warm. The pancake machine for breakfast would’ve been nice if it was working correctly and it would’ve been nice if there were two as you have to wait a while for the pancakes to be ready.

This was a nice clean room, elevator and outside elevator was a bit dirty but not really bad. The bed was good and the employee was very nice and friendly all by himself.

Clean room and property. Horrible coffee and bad quality breakfast eggs. Interesting observation of the hot water dispenser being refilled with 5 small plastic water bottles That then went to trash ? Isn’t there a better way to do that even if the local water quality is poor.

Property was OK inside by outside there were 100s of pigeons - on the roof of the building - on the lights, all over the roof. They crapped all over the entrance to the hotel and several cars parked nearby. There are electronic sound emitters that scare away the pigeons but dont harm them or use poison. Its a very bad first impression of the property and they spread their "deposits" all over everything

Comfort at It’s Best
Excellent place to stay. My only complain was the breakfast was poor. Also, the air conditioner was running at a low temp when it was below freezing outside. It took about an hour to warm up enough to take off my coat.

Poor quality maintenance did not match the brand. No retail foods in the refer or on the shelf. Two days before the new year and it looks like you were ready to close up which is sad. The pigeon droppings at the front door and tracking into the reception area was REALLY nasty. So, good brand, good people, poor maintenence and poor entrance.

Less than impressed.
Not so good experience. We chose this hotel because it had a pool, and the pool was closed bc of pump issue. Which is fine- but then we got to the room and the tv wouldn’t come on, my husband changed the plug in and it came on, and then would flash off and on. There wasn’t any soap in the container in the bathroom and the stay over all just wasn’t comfortable simply because of all the missing luxuries we paid for.

Expedia description of amenities was off. No kitchen, no restaurant at hotel. There was a breakfast buffet that was respectable. Beds were comfy and clean. Close to interstate but still quiet.

Just okay.. comfortable beds though!
No body wash in the container in the shower. Not a super clean room.. dirty bathroom. but the beds were comfortable! Breakfast was subpar compared to another Holiday Inn Express we stayed at the week before.

Not terrible, but not worth the price of the room.
The good: Bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Shower was large and mostly clean. The bad: Carpet and bathroom were not cleaned. Toilet paper holder was half ripped out of the wall, bathroom walls were damaged and half-way repaired so looked very bad. Only had 2 towels in the room and no bedding for the pull out sofa bed. Sofa bed had been folded up with food inside it. All floors were gross in the room, didn’t want to walk without shoes on.

The property is filthy. The rooms look like they are not cleaned in between guest. The towels were stained, the sheets were stained and the lights didn’t work properly. The bathrooms have not been thoroughly cleaned in months. There is mold on all of the edges in the bathroom. Very, very disappointing for the price and rating on Expedia.
