Black Bluff View Retreat - a large comfortable 5 bedroom house on 40 hectares.

Black Bluff View Retreat is in the middle of 40 hectares of private space. Bookings are for a minimum of two nights with discounts for stays longer than a week. You will be spending time in unique Tasmanian wilderness yet be only 15 minutes from the beautiful NW towns of Ulverstone, Penguin and Turners Beach which have all amenities but particularly coffee shops and beaches. Australian wildlife, including wallabies, seasonal birds, eagles, echidnas and possums is abundant and will keep you company during your stay.
The house has a wrap around deck with a large BBQ and outdoor furniture and a fire pit. It is warm and cosy in the colder months, heated by a large wood-heater and an open fireplace. Air-conditioning is not required in the summer.
The property is within a 75 minute drive from Cradle Mountain to the south east and the Tarkine rainforests to the west. Your host has a lot of information about often visited and rarely visited places in the NW region. Black Bluff View Retreat looks directly at Black Bluff and Leven Canyon to the south, part of Cradle Mountain Range.
This is a truly relaxing, spectacular and unique property. Its a bit like being in your private wildlife park where all the animals are free to roam as they want.

    Amazing place and host
We stayed for 4 days in March to celebrate my mum's 80th. A group of middle aged and older adults, and 2 young kids. The location is wonderful, amongst the trees and close to the lovely town of Ulverstone. There are 2 amazing large bedrooms. All rooms have amazing views and the house is well equipped. The host goes above and beyond. I will not share everything he did for us as it may raise expectations for him to do it for all visitors!

    A Stunning Retreat
My friends and I could not have been happier with our stay at this property. We were blown away as soon as we entered. Paul had the house very well stocked with all that you could possibly need. There were so many nice touches so we didn't feel we were missing any essentials. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to make a good meal and the house was very clean and tidy. We were a group of six adults who all appreciate their own space and this house was perfect. Very spacious and plenty of rooms to choose from. Paul was lovely and so helpful with suggestions on what to do around the area so do not hesitate to ask him questions. I highly recommend staying at this retreat and I would happily stay here again! 100% the nicest holiday let I have had the pleasure of staying in.

My husband, young teenagers and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this retreat on the edge of the wilderness. I would highly recommend this to families wanting a spacious and warm house as a base for exploring the North West region.

    Black Bluff Review Retreat
Our stay at Black Bluff View Retreat was the highlight of our five week trip to some of the most beautiful and scenic places in Tasmania. The host “Basil” greeted us at the start of our stay and gave us a tour of the house and provided us with many helpful tips about the area. The house itself was very spacious and comfortable with every possible amenity. There was a great fireplace that kept the whole house warm. Every window had an amazing view of the mountains and forest and we enjoyed being able to see the Milky Way whilst in bed. The beds were very comfortable. The garden was well cared for and surrounded by beautiful trees. This was a luxurious stay in an enviable part of the world 30 min from Leven Canyon walking tracks, 15 mins from wineries, beaches, berry, cherry farms, and wildlife park and about an hour away from Cradle Mountain. This really was a place that had everything. It truly exceeded our expectations and was a great place to end our trip. We hope to come back and stay here again one day soon so we can tackle some of the multi-day treks in the area.
