The planets cycle path - this is a great bike route starting in York and finishing half way to Selby. It follows a scale model of the solar system. The route is really beautiful once you get out past Bishopthorpe. You can stop at the pub in Naburn along the way as well. This sculpture is fishing a train out of the river Ouse.

The York Solar System Model - Earth The disused railway line is an ideal place for a concept that can be modelled in a straight line, such as a solar system model. This part of the model is the earth and moon (separate pedestal), and beyond are the cropfields northwest of Bishopthorpe village.

Staff excellent from check to departure. Arrived early so went to reception just expecting to register the car park but room was ready which was a bonus. Great meal in peacheys in the evening followed by a quality breakfast the following morning.
