"The staff was extremely courteous and friendly across the board. Everyone I encountered was great. However, the whole place felt run down. The carpet in the room didn't seem to have been vacuumed as there was debris everywhere. The base trim was peeling. My toilet backed up on the first use. And I have had a coffee maker in literally every hotel room I have stayed at in my adult life. I always appreciate the ability to make hot water on demand in my room. It was an unexpected disappointment that there was no coffee maker in the room. I wouldn't want to stay here again unless it was my only option. Not what I would have expected from my experience with other Best Western properties."
"The Bear Mountain Lodge is a real treat. Small enough to feel private and exclusive, large enough to feel professional and welcoming. Our breakfasts were beautiful homemade meals with fresh ingredients and served with a smile. The entire lodge is spotlessly clean. The staff is thoughtful, friendly, and helpful. I hope to comeback someday in the future. Don ’t miss this gem. "

"Amenities were as described and host was most gracious. The in residence dog, Blue, was a friendly addition to our stay of 3 nights. Relaxing soak in hot tub and hummingbirds were a daily treat. Would highly recommend this location as the retreat it promises and we will stay again when back in Silver City area."

"The host was very gracious and welcoming, meeting us when we arrived and giving us an orientation tour. The unit we had is beautifully appointed with color, tile and warm wood accents. The kitchen area is compact but contained everything we needed. And the beds were comfortable. It is a short and convenient distance from town with a deck for sunning or stargazing. And, oh, the stars!"

"We spent Christmas at Azaima’s retreat. We had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surroundings are gorgeous, views of the mountains all around and bird watching out the window. The hot tub was a nice bonus. Azaima and her friendly dog greeted us when we arrived. She was very helpful. "
