Sweet Mountain Escape

Check in was easy and fast. Place was clean, beds and linen clean. Did not use hot tub. Perfect wqeekend escape.

Not as private as we expected

The property is located close to town. It was clean and the heat worked well. The only thing that we didn’t like and felt the photos didn’t depict was how close the property was to our properties. There are houses on both sides of the property with residents living in them, and I’d say no more than 10 ft between them. And there are no property markers in the backyard such as fences so we didn’t know how far we could go on either side. We did even use the hot tub because it didn’t feel very private.

Great 3 bedroom cabin with a jacuzzi that was much needed after a long day skiing. Excellent location, walking distance to a brewery with live music. Private neighborhood

Relaxing President's Day Stay

I first booked the Sweet Mountain Escape as a way to ring in the new year with my family and friends in Big Bear, CA. On the day we were supposed to leave, my wife (and soon my entire family) would come down with Influenza A. Of course I didn't take the recommended travelers insurance because I thought to myself "Nothing is going to stop me from getting away for some R and R." I was wrong. The flu stopped me dead in my tracks. I reached out to Destination Big Bear to see if there was anything they could do. Although they weren't able to issue me a refund, they did allow me to re-book my stay free of charge for the next 3 day weekend that was available. (President's Day) The check in process was simple, even though we arrived late in the evening. I had trouble finding the key to the house, until I realized I was at the wrong house...(thanks GPS). Overall, our stay was amazing. Comfy couches and bedroom furniture. All TVs were streaming Netflix, Hulu, Disney + without any wi-fi problems. Great sized kitchen. They even give you the dish soap, dishwasher soap, sponges, etc. Walking distance to the Big Bear Brewery and the Alpine Slide. 71 degrees seemed to be the sweet spot on the thermostat. Roaring fireplace into the late evenings with cold beers and great wine with friends. Recommend bringing starter logs for fireplace and your own wood from home. Much more affordable that way. My only suggestion is maybe another 2 or 3 dish towels in the kitchen. We'd definitely book again!

Great stay during March dump of snow.

A few suggestions: the property is as very cold, needed to run the heat constantly. Would be great to have the yard fenced in for pets. Hot tub isn’t very private to neighbors.
