The Neighborhood:
Knickerbocker Summit is located on Knickerbocker Road — one of Big Bear Lake's most convenient streets. You're within walking distance of The Village, which means restaurants, bars, shops, and the lake are all accessible on foot. The street itself is quiet and residential, lined with tall pines and classic Big Bear cabins. It's the rare combination of being close to everything while still feeling tucked into the mountains. From the cabin you can catch views of Big Bear Lake through the trees — especially beautiful at sunset.

Other Things to Note:
No A/C — at 7,000 ft elevation the mountain air keeps things naturally cool; open the windows for a breeze
Dogs welcome — up to 2 dogs allowed with a $75 pet fee per stay. No cats or other animals. Please clean up after your pets and keep them off furniture and beds
No smoking, vaping, or candles inside the cabin
Quiet hours 10 PM–7 AM — the neighborhood is residential; local noise ordinances are enforced
Fireplace — wood-burning; wood is not provided but available at local stores
Fire pit — follow local fire safety rules; no fires during red flag warnings
Spa / hot tub — please replace the cover after use
Exterior security camera — one Ring camera on the side facing the stairs and deck, active 24/7 for safety (no interior cameras)
Mountain elevation (7,000 ft) — weather changes quickly; carry chains Nov–Apr
Trash: No curbside pickup — guests take trash to local Clean Bear disposal sites (addresses provided after booking); keep containers closed to prevent wildlife access
Wildlife is common — bears, coyotes, chipmunks, and other mountain animals live here; keep doors closed and food stored properly
Not childproofed — family-friendly but please supervise children
