First let me say that we really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. I really loved the aesthetic of the place, it's quite charming and the owners really put some thought into getting it ready for guests.
There was a lot of kitchen items that made our stay very comfortable. Plenty of cookware and utensils, even utensils for toddlers. The spice rack was a great touch, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the supply of baking pans and dishes. Oh and the tin of dog treats, so nice of them to keep those stocked.
The beds were clean and well made when we arrived. The bathroom was the perfect size (sink, toilet, shower stall and washer/dryer combo) and was well stocked with hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, I really appreciated that.
Another big draw of this cabin is the sliding glass doors that are right up against the parking spots, making loading in/out a breeze.
I packed lightly knowing that there would be a washer/dryer in the unit but unfortunately when we threw in our first load we found out that it wasn't working. Always pack more, just in case!
I think with a few tweaks this could be one of the best rentals available in Big Bear. It would be great to see some of the following:
- In the kitchen: a toaster, and a kettle. Obviously we could use the oven to toast or use a pot to boil some water, and we did, but it would have been nice to have these items. There was a keurig, a moka pot, and a french press for coffee, so I don't think the lack of toaster or kettle was to keep down the number of redundant items.
-maybe move the couch to the middle of the living room and move the dining table back against the wall where the couch currently is. During our stay the couch was very far away from the TV and there was a wide open underutilized space in the middle of the room. Also, with the dining table under the stairs as it was during our stay, it was hard to use both sides of the table without threat of hitting your head getting in/out of 2 of the seats.
-A vacuum (or a new broom/dust pan) would be great. The area directly outside the main entrance is dirt and a lot of it gets tracked in every time you go in/out and the cabin gets dusty quickly.
-a reading chair would be nice. After the first couple days I couldn't sit on the couch anymore because I have a bad back and it would have been nice to have another seat besides the couch and the dining stools.
Overall we had a great time staying here and would come back again.
Checkin was difficult to find nobody was in the office took host about an hour and a half to get to the building to check us in when we arrived my dog wasn’t even secure because of the large hole in the fence no screens so there where bugs flying inside the cabin there was leftover food in the refrigerator upstairs was worse we found a large hole in the bedroom with a pile of rat traps the closet doors where piled with old junk nowhere to put my belongings the beds looked like they carried bed bugs it was horribly hot no air what so ever no a/c host didn’t care stopped responding ignoring my conserns about the property We just gathered my bags and checked in to a hotel after paying so much for this getaway to relax all i got was more added stress when I called to request a refund I was left on hold for over a hour just to be hung up on and not have my issue resolved I would not recommend this place because of the lack of Of customer service I received and the lack of customer satisfaction
Nice cozy cabin with a great backyard. My kids and I enjoyed barbecuing and going into the hot tub. Had everything we needed for our mini vacation. Would definitely stay here again!
