The keycard controlling the lights in the room is not effective. It made a booming noise each time it was out in or taken out. At night, I could not leave a light on—it was all or nothing. It ruined my laptop, which I had left charging. My keycard got demagnetized three times and I had to take the stairs to the lobby from the 9th floor because it also controls the elevator. When the girl at the desk told me I should put the card in the slot on the door for a few moments for it to work, I lost patience and told her I know how to use a key card. Did she expect me to take the stairs, try again, and walk back down again? If it’s demagnetized, it’s demagnetized. Also had a problem with breakfast which was included in my rate. When checking in I asked if a friend could come in and have breakfast with me, with no charge, and I was enthusiastically told yes. When my friend joined me the next day, the girl in the breakfast room was very rude. When I got back to my room and called the reception desk about it, I was told that it was logical that I would have to pay. It is not about the money but about the conflicting messages and the treatment received. Overall, the room was comfortable and clean. However, I wish my laptop had not gotten fried and that the reception desk had been more attentive."
