About this property
Mullins Log Cabin 1850s rustic cabin near Ark Sits on 5 ac
15 min to ARK
My cabin is now closed for Winter. I will reopen in mid April, around the 18th. When you book my cabin, you'll enjoy a quiet neighborhood in the country. If you are a camper, you're going to love it. listen to the tree frogs, crickets, and birds. Expect country things, an ant, fly, bee, wasp. My point. you're in the country, don't expect to find a Jacuzzi or hot tub. Do expect to find a clean shower and clawfoot tub and clean chemical commode. You'll also find sweet smelling sheets and blankets on your bed. I have recently updated my pet rules. I will allow one non shedding dog. please keep it crated while you're away at the ARK. My cabin rents for $90 per night, plus taxes. Attention: PLEASE READ!!! Recently, Guest did not stay, after realizing i have a CHEMICAL COMMODE. These are found on RVs and big boats. I keep it sanitary, cleaning with Lysol and other sanitary products. The majority of my guests have no problem, especially guests that are campers, and sleep in tents. It has fireplace and outdoor furniture. and firepit Great place for children to run and play. My cabin has window AC plus a circulating fan. Plus 3 electric heaters to keep cabin and bathhouse warm and cozy. My cabin Has a kitchenette, 2 burner hotplate, pots and pans, refrigerator, microwave. I'm 15 minutes from the ARK. Guests love the country atmosphere. Please read ALL!! descriptions and look at all pictures. My cabin has ONE bed in loft and ONE Queen SOFABED downstairs. Please note!! Stairs are STEEP going to loft bedroom, but has a sturdy hand rail. Sleeps comfortably 4 people, but room for 2 sleeping bags if you have a large family. I recently have available a small outdoors portable grill with charcoal.

It was a lovely historic property out in the country. We wish we could have stayed longer. The inside decor was filled with miscellaneous antiques which were fun to peruse.
Miss Judy's Cabin was wonderful. It was like stepping back in time. Very comfy and quiet. She met us when we arrived and gave us a walk through the cabin and bath house and explained how everthing worked. A great experience if you want to feel like it was back in 1850 but with some updated ammenities.
It was the perfect place for a me time, Judy is a wonderful host and the cabin have everything I needed, if someone is looking for a peaceful, charming and rustic place, the Mullins Cabin have it all, it was the best time that I had for a while.
Historic glamping anyone? My husband and I love giving our 4 grandchildren unique experiences. We stayed an entire week at the cabin. We visited the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. Miss Judy was an absolute joy to work with. She brought the kids nets so they could catch crawdads in the creek. The kids LOVED playing in the creek, grilling our food nightly, sitting around the fire pit and roasting marshmallows while discussing all that we learned at the museums that day. We loved that the kids could play freely and safely outdoors. My husband and I loved coffee on the front porch, watching the wildlife, listening to the birds, and making memories with our grandchildren. As Miss Judy states, “It’s not for everyone.” For us, as we love camping, it was perfect. Thanks Miss Judy
The owner/manager was very kind and pleasant to work with. The cabin is adorable and well stocked. The view is very pretty. It was close to our destination, which was the ark encounter. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and we would like to do it again, thank you Judy
On our way through Kentucky to visit the Arc and Creation Museum we stayed at this fun rustic cabin. It was a real visit to a humble historic cabin in the rolling hills. We saw deer and humming birds every morning while sipping coffee as the sun wakes up the black walnut trees around you. I would definitely revisit this cabin.
The cabin is cute and cozy. Mrs Judy was so kind and hospitable. We wish it had a real toilet and sink. The bathroom is a lean-to and had a few spaces bugs could enter. (Be sure to turn off the light at night.). It is basically camping- lots of nature all around.
Everything was wonderful! The quite cabin brings rustic charm to an otherwise busy world 10 min off the highway. Due to the amount of rain, our kids weren't able to play in the creek during our stay or build a campfire, we enjoyed our stay and they were still able to enjoy the open space. Judy had everything ready and prepared for us when we got there and was there to greet us, even though we arrived later than we expected.
Where to start? Mullin’s Cabin is exactly as pictured. It’s beautiful, cozy, relaxing and just perfect! Judy was a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed chatting and getting to know her.
Listening to the birds chirping away and sitting out on the porch was very relaxing. If you have an opportunity to stay at Mullin’s Cabin do not pass it up! We are already planning next year’s trip.
Wonderful property to relax and unwind. We loved sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs and reading. The host is a wonderful lady!! Make sure you look at all the pictures of this cabin. The stairs going to the bedroom are very steep and you have to utilize a “bathhouse” which is attached to the back of the cabin. But you do have to go outside to enter. There is an RV portable toilet and pump sink, along with a clawfoot tub and shower. Cabin was very clean and decorated according to the time period. The history of the cabin is interesting.
This little antique cabin is exactly as described. If you’re looking for a glamping experience, this is the place to be! Ms. Judy is a lovely lady and getting to meet and talk with her was a pleasure as well. My grandson loved catching crawfish and tadpoles and gently and quickly putting them back into the creek outback. I personally enjoyed listening to the songbirds sing and smells of the wildflowers surrounding the delightful piece of history. It was nice experiencing life as it was in the early 1800’s. It’s a thumbs up for me!
Amazing! Surrounded by nature- a small creek right outside the back door. Cabin is charmingly rustic & authentic. The smell of the logs, antique furnishings & decor, authentic lean to bath house with clawfoot tub and propane heated water. You will fall in love with the nostalgia and charm. Judy was a wonderful host quick to recommend local places to eat explore and shop. This is a place to relax and reconnect. Judy hooked me up with some of her wonderful Ivy oatmeal soap for my terrible poison oak rash. So soothing. Highly recommend a stay at Judy's place!! We had an amazing stay!🙂😊😁 thfurnishisurroundings.
We enjoyed the peace and seclusion of the cabin, a beautiful hollow. It did take us some time to adjust to no wifi, phone, television, radio and modern plumbing. But, we reminded ourselves of what our accommodations were. We wondered about life during the 1800s having much fewer conveniences. The lighting was very low.
Where to begin... This cabin is very rustic. It is not for the faint of heart. But oh the feeling of home you get when you walk in!!! Ms. Judy is an AMAZING host and woman. She met me at the property, gave me the tour, then said good bye. She did check in to ensure i had what i needed! And was quick to suggest the best places for "local" cuisine!! If you need a place and space to refresh your soul, THIS IS THE PLACE!! The porch was as cozy as the rest of the cabin; a great place to enjoy coffee and the morning! The cabin was a little closer to civilization than I had hoped, but the locals didnt seem to mind the "outsider" looming on the porch ☺️; they just waved and went on.
Thank you again, Ms. Judy!!!

Judy was simply precious. She met us at the cabin where she went over the property. She provided the history of the property which was incredible. The cabin is primitive with a modern accommodations. There is a functional bathroom a step out of the back door. The kitchen area has a two burner hotplate, microwave, dorm size fridge, toaster and coffee pot. There isn't a TV but the cabin does have Wi-Fi. We brought a small smart TV for the morning news. The sounds at sundown are a reminder that you are in nature. The mornings were perfect for watching the humming birds eat. We did cook hotdogs on a campfire for the first night. The property is beautifully groomed and would be a great place for a game of cornhole or croquette. We forgot our cornhole.
The cabin is close to the Ark Encounter and The Creation Museum..
If you have ever camped and love peace and quiet, this is the place to be. The property is almost like a museum , there is something to see at every turn. Many items are for sell. We plan on returning.
Judy was an excellent host. She greeted us at the cabin and shared the history of the cabin. It was a very quiet and peaceful location, deep in the country, nestled along side a creek. We relaxed to the sound of rain on the roof and the aroma of flowers and candles. We highly recommend this adorable little cabin.
This was an amazing stay! The owner was so gracious, and the cabin was ethnic, clean, and absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend this amazing place, and we will definitely be back.
Beautiful setting. Cabin is clean and rustic! Judy was gracious and a joy to meet. Great communication. She is also an artist! The only thing i coukd suggest for a major improvement (for us older folks) would be a nice foam topper for bed. Otherwise loved our stay!
This was such a special place to stay! My friend and I live far apart and met in the middle at the cabin to have a visit and go to the ARK encounter. Judy was very helpful and great to communicate with! The cabin is so cute and cozy and there is a stream right in the backyard. It's really beautiful countryside! It is very rustic, so it would be a good choice if you like nature and camping and getting away to somewhere quiet and peaceful. Wonderful experience!
The cabin is set up very cute! The loft made it possible for my grandsons to stay with us in the Cabin Cabin. The pullout couch was uncomfortable, but it is being replaced this week so that’s awesome for the next visitor. Miss Judy was wonderful. She provided a very nice cot for one of the boys. She responded to every text or call in a timely fashion. She is a darling! The setting in the woods with the stream flowing behind the Cabin Cabin was just a treat! This is a rustic cabin. The privy is a step outside the back door, lol! I’m happy it was not an out house. 😂 Our boys enjoyed being in the 1850’s Cabin, they enjoyed fishing for minnows, tadpoles and crawdads! We did not have a crawdad boil, but they sure wanted one.!
