House was clean and had everything we needed. Pool and hot tub were fantastic. So many great places to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Short drive to the beach. Terrific getaway for our family.
We loved our stay at the Farm of Dreams. Pool and hot tub were awesome temperature and clean. There were pool floats and toys and a few beach toys for kids to play with. Everything was perfect. So nice to sit outside and inside had great A/C. We love that we could be loud downstairs or outside and kids could sleep upstairs. Thank you!
Our group of 10 had a great time. There is a lot to do in SW Michigan, but our group was equally content just spending time at this super cool farmhouse. We played baseball in the big side yard, spent countless hours in the pool, and everything about the inside of the house was well thought out and as presented in the photos and write up. We would definitely come back.
Our group of 5 women (all 65+) had a great time. The pool was awesome, and the owner keeps it up nicely. The pool stairs and handrail are just what our group needed. Our host responded freaky fast when we had our one snafu (lighting the grill) so we had no problems at all. That being said, this is probably better suited for a young family due to a few smaller sized rooms and the stairs. We definitely appreciated having the privacy and the kitchen is well stocked, even for this picky group.
Our group consisted of my husband (72) and I (63), my three daughters and two husbands (all in their late 30's, and grandchildren, ages 2 and 4. We all had a blast! It was our first trip to Michigan, and the whole state was beautiful. The house was a perfect match for us, in a great location. We didn't want hustle & bustle but found plenty to do. The pool, of course, was a highlight. The grandchildren never wanted to get out. We did go to the beach for a day or two, but at their age, the pool was just easier. There were stores close and also markets to get fresh produce. We really enjoyed St Joseph! There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for all of us, and everything was clean. My girls and I all enjoy cooking, and there was plenty of room in the kitchen for us. Our host was easy to contact, responded right away, and was very helpful. I don't know if he had any control over the weather, but it was also perfect! I would definitely suggest this as a great family get-away!
Easy check in process. Excellent communication with owner. Pool was clean and well maintained. Lots of space for the whole family. Convenient location close to beaches and St. Joe’s. Quiet and comfortable.
This place is as advertised, only thing we found a little disappointing was the barn but all in all, everything was as advertised! Place was very clean, kids loved the pool and hot tub! Very convenient location to the lake, enjoyed a fire, all in all was a great stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. Exceptionally clean, comfortable beds and furnishings, well stocked kitchen. Our kids loved the hot tub and we had plenty of room to spread out. Hope to return!!
We loved this place! We had 8 adults, one dog and an infant. Celebrating a milestone birthday with the whole family. Some really great things about the place - amount of space for gathering, the covered porch, outdoor eating area, indoor eating space when it was too hot. The pool was great - very clean. And the hot tub was really nice! The description is very accurate. We did not use the game room, but did take advantage of the yard with cornhole. Loved the sunsets - perfect country backdrop for family photos. Attention to detail was great - lots of towels, dishes, supplies, etc. Baroda is a quick trip for nice dining options. Loved Sandra Kay’s Bakery on the corner. We also spent a day in nearby St. Joseph at the beach. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful family vacation here! The pictures do not do the property justice. The heated pool was perfect for the ups and downs of Michigan weather. The house was clean and had some more modern updates, like new carpet and updated bathrooms. It was kid friendly with a door closing off the staircase and rounded tables. Great property that was secluded, yet a short drive to great restaurants and beaches. Overall, we would return here again with our kids and family.
This farm house is charming. Haven’t been on a family vacation for about 4 years. 7 adults. Enough space for everyone. The pool was amazing! We all enjoyed resting, reading and hanging out in the pool. Had a couple bonfires
Jacob serviced the pool a couple times Was just what we all needed!
We had the best experience in the Farm of Dreams! There were plenty of bedrooms for our crew of 9. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. The three full bathrooms made it so convenient for all of us to get ready each day. The living room was also very comfortable, with plenty of space for us all to watch a movie together, plus the smaller one was great for whoever woke up first and wanted to watch tv. The kitchen was so well stocked that we had everything we needed to prepare each meal. The pool was so, so nice! We all enjoyed it and the hot tub very much! Jacob was really on top of the cleaning and maintenance of them, so they were a real treat for us! The house is secluded enough that we felt we had plenty of privacy, and yet it was within minutes to every place we wanted to go. I wish we could give this place more than 5 stars, because it deserves it! We will definitely come back again!!
For the last 12 years our group has taken an annual trip all over the country. One of us lives in Montana, one in South Carolina, and each year we come together to get away from everything else. This property did not disappoint. It was absolutely exactly what we wanted and needed. Traditionally we do not replicate a destination...this one might be an exception. Rest, relaxation and pure fun was had by all. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We enjoyed a bon fire two of the nights as well. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed the pool and the location with proximity to the beaches. The kitchen is well stocked and the owner provided many extras. The house is clean and well kept but definitely is an older farmhouse that has been given updates. The upstairs is a little cramped and not level, but clean. The “game room” was disappointing as it is not real accessible and not cooled. If someone were visiting in the spring or fall it might get more use.
The owner was quick to respond and helpful.
Our biggest disappointment was with the overgrowth in the pool and gazebo area. Even though the owner let us know what the issue was, I feel that the price of the rental is enough to expect that the property be more manicured than it was. If someone wanted to use the little gazebo area off the pool you would not really be able to even get in there because of overgrowth. But we were still able to use and enjoy the pool.
Wasn't impressed at first.... Typical farmhouse, a little weathered on the outside and the flowerbeds were overgrown BUT...Jacob was quick to respond to text messages and he serviced the pool 3 times the week we stayed. The house was clean and roomy! Great for our family of 7! Everyone had their own space and their own bathroom! And between the game room, back porch and barn area we had space to spread out and not feel on top of one another. There are ceiling fans in most rooms, our bed was comfy, kitchen was well appointed, fresh cut flowers and cold bottled water were available upon arriving. Don't take a beach towel, they provide plenty! The pool was so nice and clean, as well as the hot tub! And the property has a HUGE yard to run and play in! We did antiquing, shopped in New Buffalo and St Joseph, We visited Tabor Hill winery and walked the connecting trail to the Round Barn winery, visited Sandra Kay's Bakery and got a delicious Strawberry seasonal pie and pecan cinnamon rolls (Yum!) And just overall had a great stay. If you're considering this location don't hesitate to book it!! I know we definitely would book it again!
One of the cleanest VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. Every single aspect was perfect! Perfect place to walk our dogs on the farm. Well-equipped with everything we needed. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub! Absolutely loved it! If we are ever in the area we will 100% stay here again! The owners were excellent and made sure we had everything we needed!
The host was great to deal with. He bend over backwards to make sure we were happy with our stay. The property has a lot of amenities and everything was fully stocked. We would definitely book this house again!
