The cottage is newly renovated in a clean, simple style that will remind you of HGTV while giving you a true cottage feel. Relax in the rockers on the front porch or in front of the fireplace in the living room. The cottage features a full kitchen with quartz countertops, 2 full bathrooms with double quartz vanities and custom tiled showers with glass doors. The washer/dryer, air conditioning, and heating are all brand new for your comfort.

The cottage includes a downstairs queen bedroom, upstairs queen bedroom, upstairs twin bunk bed room and an upstairs full bedroom.

It comes stocked with kids toys, books, a couple beach chairs, a beach cooler bag, corn hole and games to use during your stay.

Conveniently located two blocks from the beach at the blue stairs and breathtaking sunsets over Lake Michigan! One block from the amazing Kids Corner playground, 5 blocks to the kids Splash pad and 5-6 blocks from downtown. Plus steps away from the paved Van Buren State Park Trail and a short ride to the Kal-Haven 33.5 mile trail for biking, running or walking.

Our cottage is open for year round fun and is the perfect winter retreat! Walk, cross country ski or snowmobile the Kal-Haven trail. Ice skate downtown in a festive atmosphere or go downhill skiing at Timber Ridge or Bittersweet 35-45 miles away. Take in a movie at Michigan Theatre of South Haven or play the over 65+ retro video games and pinball games at Rocket Arcade. Then shop and dine downtown after viewing the lighthouse in all of it’s winter glory! End the day by coming home to relax in front of a warm, cozy fireplace.

The cottage is perfect for a family vacations, girls retreat or romantic getaway.

The cottage sits on a double lot in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. The property features a custom brick firepit and open grassy area is to the right of a large brick patio/driveway. This space is perfect for making memories with friends and family.

Excellent stay

Our hosts were amazing, and the location was perfect for a quick trip out of South Bend! Great town and restaurants. Place was very clean and kitchen was stocked with proper pots and pans. We would visit again!

Summer in South Haven

This home was in a great location. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. The house had plenty of space for our family of four. The bathrooms were beautiful. We also loved sitting by the fire pit in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location, very relaxing

This house is in a great location close to the beach, parks and also not far from the main shops in town. We walked pretty much everywhere with our 2 year old. The neighborhood was also very quiet for anyone looking to just get away from the hustle and bustle. Carrie was very responsive and helpful with anything needed, would stay again.

Perfect House with a Perfect Location

We couldn't have asked for anything more, this house was amazing!! It is beautiful, the location was ideal, and it was absolutely perfect for our girls weekend! Carrie was on top of everything and even sent us ideas of things to do while we were there. We are already planning next years trip!

Perfect Girls Trip

What a great place to stay for a girls wine tasting trip. The house was spotless and the location was great. Even though the weather was chilly we took our morning walk to the beach everyday! Carrie was great to work with. Can’t wait to go back with my family!

Great little beach house

Perfect for an easy family beach getaway. Beach chairs, umbrella and toys were provided. Home was exceptionally clean. Note that if you bring a wagon for the beach, you’ll likely need to drive as there is a full staircase at the beach entrance closest to the home (about 2 blocks).

South Haven Trip

This property was exactly what we were looking for at South Haven. The location was great for the beach and close enough to hit up other points of interest. The floor plans provide a lot of flexibility and recent renovations are holding up nicely. The side yard and well stocked game/toy cabinet were a perfect mix of fun for both young and old. Definitely hope to return at some point!

South Haven Fall trip

We absolutely loved our stay at Carrie's house! She is an incredible host with such excellent communication and a welcoming manner. This was our first trip to South Haven and she gave me great information on places to go, where to eat, how to enjoy the area etc. We loved the history of the house and it is really so charming and cozy. Can't wait to come back another time!

Girls golf trip

We really enjoyed staying at Carrie’s cozy cottage! So clean and updated. Just a couple blocks from the beach at Lake Michigan. Had a fun night playing Heads Up at the gorgeous firepit. She has everything you need there. Any questions we had Carrie responded either immediately or within a couple minutes. We will definitely stay here again when we travel over to South Haven

Family Getaway

We will definitely rent this house again! Carrie was an amazing host, and spared no detail in designing an outfit in the home for our stay. Every detail even down to a basket of goodies to make s’mores. The location is two blocks from the beach and a quick walk into town. The absolute ideal location. Communication was quick and very easy.

Perfect location

This was a cute house. It had everything we needed. The gas fireplace was so nice on a cold and wet night and it let out a good amount of heat. The location was perfect. Easy walk to the beach and I felt safe walking in the dark. Carrie was great. She answered any questions I had and always responded. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Delightful!

Biggest plus for me is location! Literally 3 minute walk to the park bench overlooking the lake. Close to blue stairs, Kids Corner, and town. Also appreciated quiet mornings on the porch, plenty of fire pit seating, large bathrooms, and quality of furnishings (including baby items!) Sometimes I’m uncomfortable in someone else’s home, but not here! Clean, comfortable, and oh so cute! Felt like I stepped into someone’s Pinterest.

Super week at the beach!

Great location in pretty neighborhood about 3 blocks to beach access. And only 1 block to kids corner. House is updated, clean and well appointed. Kitchen and bathrooms are brand new, very clean, super functional. We enjoyed fire pit, grill, porch, and driveway/play area. Kids love the bunk beds, play space, their own tv (!!) and video game. Owners are great with communication and very helpful. Great week at the beach!

Piece of tranquil paradise

My husband and I along with our two year old little guy had an amazing time! Communication was stellar, the location was perfect, the lake house had everything we needed including a s'mores welcome kit! The perfect destination to remove yourself from the chaos of the real world and focus on yourself & family. We read, we walked, we talked by the fire, we ate, we had great wine, we enjoyed the beach, the playground, and we recharged. We look forward to our next trip at Carrie's cottage in 2024. She is an amazing host! Don't hesitate to book, you won't be disappointed!

A wonderful time in the sweetest town!

This was our first visit to South Haven and to say that we fell in love with this town is an understatement! We have 4 boys and our goal with this trip was a slow and easy beach vacation where everything was within walking distance. We parked our car in the driveway of this beautiful home on our arrival day and never got in the car until the day we left! Only a short walk to the beach, playground, splash pad, and even into town for restaurants, donuts and ice cream! Carrie was such a gracious and kind host and her home is so lovely! Adorably decorated, well stocked and so immaculate—it truly felt like a home away from home. My only regret is that we didn’t plan a longer stay! Carrie, thank you again for a lovely stay—we will absolutely be back!

Best lake vacation ever

After years of trying and not quite succeeding at finding the perfect place in the perfect town on the perfect Great Lake for a family vacation, we pulled it off this year. Carrie's place is everything that the pictures and description and other reviews all say it is - in a word, great. It took about two days for my wife to stop talking about how clean it was and for us to get to know the nooks and crannies of South Haven, but once that was over - wow! Just the perfect spot to spend a week. The house is an easy walk to the beach and to the main business district, and it was the perfect base for our daily round (walk up to town for coffee and donuts; walk to the beach in the afternoon; walk up to town again for ice cream in the evening). We hope to return again and again to this clean, bright, white gem of a space.

adorable house close to everything

We loved our stay in this cute little house. The location was great, we were able to walk to kids corner, the beach, and the town daily. The outdoor firepit was so nice to have. Walking to the end of the street and watching the sunset over the water can't be beat. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The host, Carrie, was amazing and so easy to communicate with. She was very responsive. I was thankful for previous reviews stating the house is in fact not a 4 bedroom but a 3, with the bunkbeds actually being in a loft space at the top of the stairs. It wasnt a dealbreaker for us but traveling with little kids it was good to know ahead of time. We loved this house and would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Getaway

What an absolute Gem! A beautifully renovated 100+ year old house with all the comforts of home..fully appointed kitchen, comfy beds, washer/dryer discretely placed on main floor, among other things. Keyless entry so no worry about losing keys. Decor is light and airy. Multiple windows allow the light to fill the home yet easy operating shades allow for full privacy at night. Location is perfectly situated..close to the cute downtown area and just a few min walk to the beach to see the stunning Sunsets..Nice outdoor area with Grill and Firepit (along with a Welcome S'more Kit) Carrie is everything you would want in a host..Friendly and Responsive to any questions. My only regret? That we could spend more time there❤️

We just spent a week in this immaculate house. It is a great location to the beach, the park and the downtown area. It was only a two block walk to see the beautiful sunsets. There is a nice firepit! Carrie was so easy to work with and gave us suggestions on places to eat and things to do. I would highly recommend this house!!
