We are a family of 5 and spent 2 absolutely amazing weeks at Casa Juana. Kids (3 girls 8 months, 4yo and 6yo) loved park which is less than 5 mins from casa and where you can find rabbits, chicken, donkey, goats and excellent playgrounds – they have even clowns during weekends. There is Delfinarium opposite the park where you can see a lot of animals apart from dolphins. Worth going there.
Sea is only 5 minutes walk away.
There are many other attractions nearby (maximum 20 mins away either by foot or taxi) – aquarium, butterflies, crocodiles, Hindu temple, theme/amusement park (Tivoli World), beautiful gardens, marina. To be frank, we did not see all of these places as kids simply loved playing in the house, on the patio and sharing time mainly between seaside and the park.
There are plenty lovely restaurants on the seaside – which I wanted to go to. However, our kids did not fancy the restaurants and we had to cook. We are gluten and diary intolerant and it was very easy to find right food for us in well stuffed supermarkets which are 5-10 mins away. The kitchen at Casa Juana is well equipped and it was painless to cook there. You’ve got there everything you need to cook proper meals for a big group of people.
As my kids were ill, I had to make 2 trips to the private hospital Xanit which is 20 mins away by taxi from Casa Juana. Xanit is pricy (c200Euro per visit) but if you are covered with insurance, the expense should be refunded. The treatment we received was perfect- the doctors spoke English, the hospital is very modern and we did not have to wait long.
It was a first time for us to spend summer holidays in a rented house. Casa Juana is such a nice place that we are planning to repeat it. The house is clean, well equipped – the owner has thought even about things such as a baby chair or non slip mats for bath. The house is spacious and so it was lovey to put kids to bed upstairs and have some free time in the evening in the living room on the ground floor.
